Hello to every body on the group, thought i would introduce myself . My name is Ken and i run a small company in Wrexham North Wales using a CNC router and saw mill machinery. I work with a lot of sign manufacturers and the craft industries within the UK. I have only been running for the last eight months so any advice from me might be limited. If i can be of any help to any one then i will do my best.

I am sure i will be asking a lot of question as time goes by. I never intended to start a business providing to the sign or craft trade i was going to make guitars but i got hijacked and had to start learning fast.

    Cheers 😉

    Good morning Martin

You should come and visit this place is surrounded by animals. My unit is near a river and it’s like a nature reserve down here there are Peacoks, ducks, geese, chickens, horses, squirrels and so on. A great place to work but the dawn chorous can be a little noisy. Cheers for the welcome 😀

Hi Ken and welcome to the boards, lots of useful info on here, if you need an answer to a question try the search as someone might have asked the question before, if you can’t find what you are looking for just post a new topic. Don’t be afraid to ask no matter how silly you think the questions are, I’ve asked loads of silly questions.!!

Hello Ken and welcome to the UK signboards – a wonderful resource for all of us signmakers. 😀

Are you still making Guitars at all? and what sorts of products do you use the CNC router for (Presumably flat cut lettering and so on)?

I was sent a sample from a company called “Delcam” that produce router software. This sample was a small piece of almost clear plastic that had been routed to produce a carving that when held up to the light showed a photgraphic quality image – amazing!!

    Hello Rightsigns

I am playing about with the guitars mainly electric but i had to suspend most of the work because the business led me in this direction. But i am not complaining. I have a more variety now, working with sign manufacturers and craft companies. I make flat cut lettering with the cnc in loads of different materials. I also make house signs , plaques, frames , shapes what ever you can imagine really. I have even made a bait rolling machine for a fisherman.I also have a saw mill which is great for cutting cast acrylics and so on. I let people ask me then i see if i can make it basically.I use 3-d software and i have worked with Delcam software and it is very good but the price for it is in the thousands. 😥 Thanks for the welcome 🙂
