    Hi all

As a new member I need to ask you who has been here longer, what do I get if I signed up as a paying member?
There are these forums which I canยดt access now, for one. What do they offer?

Just please list up some main reasons why I should (and why you did) sign up?

    Thanks
    Marko

I signed up because I’m a signmaker and this is a forum for signmakers. Anyone can browse these forums free of charge and lots of people do. The more serious choose to become members to access other forums and become a part of the buying group which offers discounted prices on a range of signmaking materials.

I joined 4 years ago and I am still a member now. It most certainly is worthwhile or I wouldn’t waste my time and money here. ๐Ÿ˜€

I’m relatively new here. I first found this forum from another forum where Stevo Chartrands’ work was posted. I really wanted to see one of the demonstrations he did so I signed up. There is a lot of content that is only available to members. I think the content is worth the price.

what marek and phil said ! the demo’s, file swaps etc can be invaluable, no matter how much yuo know, or think you know (that’ll be me then !) the forums are well worth it.

I came here many years ago when I was studying some sign making tips, about year ago I came back again but this time I became a public annoyance.
I got the company to pay for me to represent our company on here, although advertising is banned, it is a good opportunity to meet people to share ideas and tips or just to say hello to a group of people.

There is something called the UK Sign Group, this is a buyers group for UK companies and that is what the UKSG means. It offers certain discounts and so forth. There is 3 levels of membership, bronze, silver and gold, these allow you into areas like “File Swapping”, “Quotes and Subcontracting” and “Demonstrations”.

Robert Lambie runs this place and he is currently reviewing the membership areas, if you click on Membership down the side it is only showing renewals, but I suspect Rob will make an annoucement soon with regard the work he is doing on the boards.

He is available on admin@uksignboards.com if you need to discuss access. But we did not pay for a long time but we have now had the benefits for the money now. Very pleased that we did.

Then again – there’s the initiation ceremony which involves a goat and a couple of virgins. But you’ll find out more about that once you’ve become a fully paid up member ๐Ÿ˜‰

Please ignore phil, the ceremony only involves the Goat now, the virgins are hard to find

As a lone signmaker, with much to learn, I found so much help on the forums I could access as a non-member, but wanted to see some of the demo’s.

Since joining I have had endless help and advice, from complete strangers, so much so that some jobs have been completed on time only due to the help received on here.

As I work alone I have no-one to refer to, and there are only so many times that I can ask my suppliers for advice without feeling a complete fool.

On here however, if people don’t want to help, for whatever reason, there are no hard feelings, and as long as you are seen to be giving something back on occasion, no-one minds you asking (in my opinion).

    Just do it!

Lots and lots of information here shared by all the great members. The memberships in my opinion are well worth it. We have learnt so much from here and have made some really great friends too.

    I am the same.

I did the free route to start with, but paid up basically to support financially for a very good idea.

We all benefit from the resource, so I think it only fair that we contribute both in content and dollars.

Few really good resources are ever totally free.

I joined up after being referred to here from one of my suppliers.

Being able to acces the demos are are a bonus, and if you are new, the help from here is invalueable.
