Just fixed a new print head to my PC60 and everything seemes hunky dory but….

I have printed out the system report before & after the head change and would like to question the print head temperature. The original head was 35Celcius and the new head is set at 40 Celcius. Is this a big deal or is it just the way the head works??????

Also there is a “Kin=94” & “Gin=441” on the old head and the new head is “Kin=0” & “Gin=0” Whats that one all about???

And a thanks to Mike at Sign Solutions for your help! 😀 Cheers Mate.

Glad to hear you got it all sorted Mike 😀 No idea in answer to your questions as I’m a PC60 Newbie Extraoridinarre 😕 🙁 Mine reads a temperature of 30 something, but like yourself, I have no idea what all the kins n gins are for, maybe the machine was developed by a Dutch chap after a wild night on the town?! 😉

    Cheers, Dewi

    Hiya
Each head has a calibration voltage particular to it , there is a sort of jumper thing the agents use and then set the voltage using a little trim pot , I think the legend on the head maybe refers to this?
Get a service manual , I think Dave was offering them around at one time , Ideal imaging , the guys that supply us the ribbons sent us one. I would try calibrate the head properly , I know that often when we had a track go dodgy , we used to wack up the head voltage which did “cure” it for a while , but eventually the increased voltage blew the heads in a big way.

😳 That was what I meant to say 😳 I’ll get me coat!

Rod, the voltage has been set as per instructions. My question was regarding the head temp as it is 5 degs higher than the previous one, I don’t know if I have to re-set this or just leave it?
