cheers!
it was nicknamed mini hulk! v v v quick race car! -
thanks martin!
i have been supplying ‘concept’ sketches to my clients for a while, then going the whole cad route for them, it works alot of the time, just a different approach to visuals i think, and they get to keep the sketch too!
(and it is also an excuse for me to use illustration in my work!!!)j

Fantastic work there. Are you creating the visuals digitally or by hand?
They look stunning

cheers peter
i use a wacom tablet, and sketchbook pro / bit of photoshop.
(done my years getting messy with the painting bit!, still alike to airbrush though)it all came about when i was commissioned to do an illustration of the Aston Martin GT4, sort of took it from there.
another sketch in this post, more of an illustration than a design this one

Fantastic work! I like green Mazdas as well. The is something to that British Racing colour.
-
Actually, on a second look it is not a British racing green, but still stunning and such a simple design!

cheers chap

Did you find your favourite vinyl at all, or is it all the same as long as it’s higher end of the range?

i have always wrapped with the avery 900 series, tis good stuff, can be quite ‘grabby’ at times.
i cant get on with the bubble free etc stuff, just too much of a risk!j

Thanks, have not used it yet- Hexis polymeric is my favourite so far, as I only do small recesses for poor customers 🙂 😉
-
hexis is all good, wrapped a lola B09 in that once, and lasted!!!
-
crikey! You’ve been around some nice cars… Basted in rays of their glamour 😉
-
Wow your illustrations are brilliant – you are a talented chap 🙂
I used to produce lots of airbrushed and marker renderings during my studies and when I worked as a product designer. I wouldn’t mind giving the Wacom/Sketchbook Pro a try – I have a couple of questions..
Which tablet/size do you use?
Roughly how long does it take you to produce an illustration such as the Fiat 500?Thanks,
Owen -
i have been fortunate to be around a few ‘nice’ cars, i enjoyed the motorsports industry, but, going back to my roots now!
in answer to the wacom question, i use an intuous A4 with a classic pen, i run mine off a pretty hefty G5 (as i do produce VLF print artwork too) 4 scratch disks twin processors etc, but a good modern PC will cope, as long as there is heavyweight graphics card involved, otherwise you will get ‘lagging’ which can be very frustrating1
sketch book pro is a mega piece of kit, so simple and intuitive, i do use photoshop for more complicated illustrations, but for concepts and base drawngs sketchbook rocks.
it took me about 5 weeks to get used to the whole hand eye coordination thing, and i dont use a mouse anymore for any of my work, to clunky!!! lol
the Fiat took me around 2-3hrs to put together, a very rough concept one that! but the client liked it!
the couple of attached visuals took about the same time, if not a little less
cheers for the comments too!!!
