Just browsing ebay to look for a print and cut machine and stumbled on this Roland pc60 check it out, item number
6750790048 then look at members other auctions ! now i go by the rule of thumb that if it sounds too good to be true it probably damn well is and at £500 at the time of posting other ppl are thinking the same as me…. its got to be a scam isnt it ?

I think you’ll find the same item is listed several times!

All from the person, location, for the same product and i cant imagine her having a dozen PC60s for sale.

Have you emailed her? Had any replies?

yeah i did notice this, that is what is leading me to beleive it has to be a scam, and yep i emailed them but got no reply as of yet, But you will notice that they have been trading on ebay for approx 3mths with plenty of positive feedback, They probably have been preparing for this scam by buying cheap items to get their feedback up to score confidence ready for the big scam.

Its a sad fact that the scamsters have realised the demand for both the Roland PC60 and Roland PC600. There have been hundreds, and yep I mean hundreds of these advertised on ebay, with auctions going in excess of £1800, but the winning bidder never recieves the goods.

Best bet is contact ebay and inform them. They will remove the item and then question the seller. If its a scam, the seller won’t do anything about it, if its not a scam, the seller will recieve a free listing from ebay if they can confirm they own the item.

    Cheers, Dewi

Yeah, yr most probably right! Suppose it doesnt take long to build up a Good Rating/Feedback and then RIP SOME POOR SOD OFF like me or you!

I think its because people have started cottoning on to those without feedback are potential scammers and with a female name too, sounds a bit less worrying at first.

You’ll probably find the bids already on the listed item are by them too either as other alias’ or they have a made it a private auction so we cannot see!

At the end of the day, if you dont get an email reply with a genuine response to yr question then dont bother. Its probably worth asking a Technical question too, cos any genuine signmaking would give you a straight answer………wouldnt they????

There is a PC600 on there if yr interested and the people selling it seem GENUINE enough, obviously the price is a bit steeper though.

Usually around the £3k mark, but they can go for alot more on Ebay. The highest genuine PC600 I’ve seen went for £3950, I was shocked, but I guess it was down to the extra supplies that came with it (vinyl & ribbons)

jeez ive been holding out for one for about the 2k mark, perhaps i should try looking for something cheaper like the pc50 maybe

I’m sure someone will correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe PC60s go for a lot less than PC600s. I’ve seen PC60s sold for 1800 squids on ebay, and genuine.

You don’t see many Gerber Edges on there…dunno why. The 2nd hand price of a Mk1 Edge can’t be much more than £4k. Might be worth your consideration S&G although the print size is so much smaller.

yeah dont think ive seen a gerber edge on ebay for a long time… doesnt have to be a wide cut and print area that i need probably maximum would be 300mm not sure really what equipment would best suit, making safety type stickers.

Well, the edge’s 299.87mm print width would cope with that. Only thing is, the seperate plotter would push the price up I reckon. You’d think there would be a load of old thermal printers on the 2nd hand market, what with all these new fancy shmancy inkjet printers becoming so popular. I know a bloke who never uses his edge any more because of his new Versacam, but doesn’t want to sell the edge because sod’s law states that you’ll need it 10 minutes after it’s sold!

I saw the posts this morning, and thought I’d have a shufty at E-Bay. I think I identified the auction in question, and there are a couple of items I might be interested in. So…….

I’ve sent a question about delivery, ’cause I noticed they’re here in Spain, and I’ve asked whether they will offer C.O.D.! That should do the trick – if they’re kosher, they should think about it – at least get back to me ’cause I’ve told them I’m interested in several items.

I’ll keep ya posted. If it’s not a scam, I should get a good deal here!

yeah please let me know if you get a reply leethesign99, if its a genuine auction i would be interested in a few of their items too.

i noticed that too barry…… have feedback for cheap purchases only but then if it is a scam surely we could trace their address through the people who sold them knickers !

    Well….

    I’ve got a reply.

They said they couldn’t do C.O.D., as they’ve been caught before, but are offering Paypal.

This, as I understand it, offers buyers protection against scams (or does it really?)

I may try one item (cheapish) to find out – or should I??

    Whaddya think?

she did buy a Hypnosis CD one time perhaps she has you all.

Perhaps ask for some pics of the serial plates ie a pic of more than 2 or 3 units.

Personally If I wanted to achive good money for my items I would not list like she has done. You have to give buyers confidence if she has been asked questions as to is the sale genuine I would update my listing to provide back up to my sale being genuine……

Im just not convinced at the moment it isn’t a scam….

She isn’t going to email saying yeh I am a scammer but don’t tell anyone…. (:)

Ok I sent an email and got a quick repsonce.

I stated I was a serious enquirer and looking to hopefully make multiple purchases. I asked for serials from the machines to prove they are genuine and multiple units exist.

    My reply stated:
“I understand perfectly, i will need a bit of time however, as they are in packing crates and loaded on a van, i will email you as soon as i have them. I totally understand tho, i have been a victim of a scam artist from ebay myself. Thanks”.

    So the plot ……………

I’m having fun at the moment, but I really should be doing some work!

I’ve checked with Paypal regarding security of your dosh, and it only applies when the item is listed as being specifically covered.

These items aren’t covered by Paypal Protection, so that’s prob’ly the answer to whether to buy or not.

I’m going to send them an e-mail now asking if, as I’m already in Spain, I can come and collect. They’re in Mallorca, and I’m on the mainland, but I’ll say I’m going over on holiday next week. Let’s see what response that elicits.

sent an email this is the response

    quote :

    Dear signritesigns,

“my brother in law lives in Majorca can he come to view
and collect goods if we are successful in purchasing he can pay cash sterling or euros i would like him to take a look at several lots, he can be with u within 15 mins adrian”

Hi, not a problem really, except that i cannot end the auction early. All we have that is for sale is packaged in crates. However, its not a problem if you win the auction, although it will have to be cash, as i have been scammed before. Hope you understand. Thanks.

well didnt answer if i could view just pay for in cash after auction
    very dodgy……

    Dear denise5059,

Thanks for reply can you let me have your address and tel number so my brother in law can arrange to meet you
and take a look at various lots before the auction ends

    see what happens

I emailed her asking technical questions and got this reply

    quote :

Hi Dave, the presses are all sturdy, they would be difficult to mistreat and are all in perfect working order. On the PC60, the printheads have been replaced only about 10 months ago, and if looked after, should be good for years instead of months. The cost of replacing them is about 220.00. Ribbons are available at 11.00each, and are also available in spot colours too. Hope this helps. Thanks

wasnt really considering a pc50 just kidding mrsticker
as i said before though if it is a scam they can be traced through their purchases cant they ? i dunno !
all i know is im desperate for a print and cut

Albeit the pc60 IS a print and cut , its not a great one to buy unless you have specific apps for it or are prepared to do real small stuff and be undercut by most inkjet types.
We use one for metallics on dark or very small runs of very small decals. Consumable costs are horrendous.
I worked out that it doesnt take at all long to recover the cost of of a versacam or cadet vs the low initial cost of a pc6o in terms of the major extra you pay for pc60 consumables.
(about 50 quid per sq meter vs less than 10 – do 20 sq meters a month and you save 800 quid – 20 sq meters a month is mickey mouse , do more and your savings accelerate – apart from which the machine is about 10x more flexible)

Has anyone here bid on any of these auctions ? or even found out whether they are actually scams ? ……i reported to ebay 2 days ago that they might be scams but the auctions are still running… also asked her a number of questions regarding techinical info but she seems conversant with them…………

Not bidding yet, I wait until the last Min’s and sometimes use sniper software (very effective) . From all I have read so far I feel this might be genuine, seems to know her stuff and all she is selling seems to show a complete setup up for sale.

    Will keep watching!!

well, whaddya know – it seems that, as we suspected this was a scam in the making.

I put low bids in for a couple of items and have today been informed that the auction is cancelled as the seller has been given the order of the elbow from E-bay.

So there we go, someone’s prob’ly been scammed, but for a change, I escaped….hope you all did as well!

Let’s all keep looking though, there must be a bargain out there somewhere!!!
