lol, for me it’s never xmas until i hear ‘fairy tale of new york’ on the radio, i managed to get to just yesterday morning before hearing it, love the song but it usually goes hand in hand with being totally skint (as Matty suggests!)

Rob like I said, people used to queue up for stuff, at Christmas, but I dont recall it happening in the last few years,
I watched Jonathan Ross’s 100 top toys the other night, and was surprised at how much people were prepared to spend, and how long they would queue to get the "in fashion" toy.

I was lucky to get a 2s 6d airfix spitfire, and an orange when I was a lad!

Its Ironic really, bit of snow and because the on line orders are not getting delivered, people now decide to use the shops…. causing more chaos on the roads, and preventing the deliveries being made anyway……

    😳
I waited in line 20 minutes at the post office today (a first!) just to mail your card, Peter.
    hahahaha
There was a little teeny old lady in the front of the line who just about went postal.

    Jill, I am disappointed.
I really thought you would have delivered it in person,

not sure i follow, this happens every christmas mate, in fact, when the new x-box and the like comes out there are overnight campers etc and its not even christmas.
granted we will see a fall in the likes of this happening because many people will just pre-book online and pay upfront. then walk in and collect or have delivered. guess its how the Internet has changed things these days.

Remember furbies? These went for silly money up to around £80 each (this was like 12 years ago for a wee stuffed toy type of thing), a friend of mine came up to visit on Skye, our local toy shop days before Christmas had all there stock untouched, no – one here either knew of the hype or were interested or had heard of them, my friend made a few calls and had sold the lot in minutes, took the entire stock and no doubt made a fortune!

Christmas aint Christmas until I have heard stop the cavalry!

Rob, what are people queuing up for this Christmas?

or have i missed the latest gadget/toy?

all I am saying is the queues, made me aware it was Christmas.
That was the question wasn’t it?
