Depends what you mean by fake?

You can buy signgold which is a 24" wide material which can be plotted but its not fake really.

you can get Dutch Gold Leaf, which is imitation gold leaf….most suppliers of Gold Leaf will stock it. Must be protected though as it will turn green quickly.
    Hope that helps

i think a few suppliers now offer it. im pretty sure grafityp do it in gold leaf and silver leaf, but better calling to check.
Also, europoint has started doing a few variations on gold leaf effect vinyl. again, better calling to check whats what with that.

SignGold vinyl IS available which is apparently, the real stuff but on a roll like vinyl. I’m sure its only available in 13inch wide rolls and costs about £18 a metre. I’m doing this from memory so don’t quote me on the prices… 😀

I have to paint some 10mm letters in gold and am looking to source some bright gold paint that won’t tarnish/go dull. Any advise.
    Thank you
    Pat

Have used the Sovereign Gold in this Pat…..very bright and like Gold leaf when finished…..got mine from MRCB in Cornmarket in Dublin…expensive though and has to have the protective coating for external use.

Forgot to mention that these letters are 200mm high out of 10mm. foamex
How about the cut edge of letters, whats the best method to prime?

If you are spraying Pat, probably better with a vehicle paint (metallic)

Ian Johnson uses stuff to coat the edges that is good, he has mentioned it on here, I’ll try and find it.
