Hi guys, I watched a documentary the other day about global warming etc and it got me thinking as I’d half caught a talk at sign UK about waste and the environment. The basic premise was that the sign industry is a massive Eco disaster, as we have huge amounts of plastic, silicon and solvent waste, which is quite true.

So my question is, is there any Eco friendly vinyl products out there?

Customers are becoming more and more environmentally responsible within their sectors and some require their suppliers to be. This thread could be a good source of info for the future……if someone hasn’t already posted something similar, in which case forgive me, I did search but most references were to Eco = Economy films 🙂

I think from an environmental point of view you’ll see more stuff printed onto fabric rather then substrates containing pvc from a recycling point of view.

two companies i have spoke with that are going down this route are Europoint and Cox. Although, as yet, i haven’t noticed any ad campaigns from Cox, I have seen some from Europoint.
At the moment i think this is more based on rigid substrates like dibond alternatives, display board, pvc board and packaging they use etc
you will also start seeing, as we have experienced… BIG companies wanting to deal only with companies actively doing their green bit… this hasnt caused us to loss any work at all, but has made us think more about dealing with suppliers doing same.
