Orafol will almost certainly direct you to Australian Sign Supplies ,there is no way they would let you import it directly especially if its just for your own use. They are very loyal to their distributors. I would stick to getting it from Australian Sign Supplies.

Contact ags.com.au about this. They have affiliations with Oracal all over OZ I think.

They sell the roland gear too. fantastic company, I am sure they can help.

If you need anything else, just let me kow. I run a roland 540 too , converted to solvent with techink.

    Cheers

I meant more lets say i want to practice on my car i want a book generally for signage that shows and explains how to measure the artwork area on the car and start from there .
Im good in illustrator photoshop indesign corel .
i want 2 jump into finished job in signage
I know how to operate the printers . But want to learn techniques that usually man follow. 🙂 I know it wont be easy but have to start somewhere. with time and practice I’m sure ill be OK 🙂

im not sure about i oz, but in the states and uk there is software for that.
what i mean is… in the uk we have cd’s that compile almost every make and model of commercial vehicle. within your software you would access the disk and open the vehicle of your choice. this vehicle will open at the true size on screen. from here you can size the graphics you have created to suit each area of the car/van.

that said. if you have to design right to the edges of panels etc it is always better to take a size of the panels with a measuring tape. that said.. i dont do that often these days.

software isnt always needed. using some sign makers techniques you can take a digital picture of the vehicle and scale it on screen, again giving accurate measurements to work from.

Would you know how i can where i can find this software in UK how can i order it what is it called.
So there is no books whats so ever regarding signage generally.
    BUGGER.
    🙂

here is a good magazine from the states. you can buy it in oz…
    well worth the subscription. http://www.signcraft.com/

the software over here may not suit the vehicles over there though…
there is some in the states, maybe shane or some of our freinds from the states could point you in the software direction?

    “Hi Shane

Tel Nancy to contact Artmart Australia in Melbourne, our associate company. They’re the exclusive ORACAL distributors for VIC, TAS and ACT.

    Tel 03 92361111 or http://www.artmartaust.com.au
    Speak to Rob or Lisa.

    Thanks

    Greg Nicholls

Also , make sure you go to the sign show in melbourne next year. image are one of the sponsor. You’ll have heaps more wquestions from there

Keep in touch, this is a great community. Top people every one of them 😛
