  • is there a zero odour solvent ink available for a cadet?

whilst waiting for a grant to go towards a new cadet, i am a little concerned about my neighbors in the business park i work in. The problem is the smell the cadet gives off, therefore i am interested in the low odour inks that are available. Does it do what it says on the tin?? and does the machine have to be modified in any way to use said inks??

any advice would be great full

hi roffs, short reply here mate. don’t worry…. i mean that.
what is said here on the boards is normally true, good advise. but what is typed up about H&S issues and the like, although relevant, are grossly over exaggerated. if not, how could the screen and print industry operate today? my view is that if you have a smoker in your office, he/she is probably causing the same, if not, more damage to those working in enclosed space.
if your walls are thick and a hole cut in them is too long winded. get a two small fans fitted/cut into two windows. one bringing in air, there isn’t much a smell but there is some of course. get the grant, cover yourself and others with regards to H&S and make some money for yourself. 😉

I’m all for that rob !!! the trouble i got is that the units i rent are open topped therefore what i get the rest of the building get, today me and my mate knocked up a room to house the machine to limit the “”smell”” and also taken advice from other posts with regards to fans etc… personally i dint see a problem, but lets face it – theres always one!!!!

your dead right mate, always better safe than sorry. 😉 but I’m sure you will be fine. if communal airspace so to speak… just get a tube like you get when you add shower conversion., to extract steam right outside. very cheap and easy to install..
as for getting beer. 😎 :lol1: :lol1: I’ve just come in from out my back garden, did some steaks and burgers on the Bar-B-Q lovelly jubbley… :lol1: :lol1: :lol1: its getting real dark now so we are back indoors but still pretty warm/humid. 😉 *drink*

i too was worried about the smell.

i bought a fan and ducting from machine mart, cost nearly £400.

installed it above the cadet, to vent the fumes in the attic space ( detached workshop)

and i`ve switched the fan on 3 times max.

if you will be printing 24/7 that might be a different story…

I agree with you guys, the fumes from the Cadet inks are not a problem. On very hot days I use a pedestal fan to disperse the air around the room, although I would have that on anyway.

Overall there is far less smell than from a smoker, and it doesn’t linger!

Roffs i think you are right to be concerned with heavy use even Eco sol smell is noticed by my customers could be worse in your tight nit community still you never know until somebody moans.
