Hi Guys, hope u are all well,
i posted on here a couple of days ago and got a fantastic response so I’m hoping someone can help me out with a few more questions, some may seem a bit daft but Ive only had it set up a week so any advice would be helpful advice.

Firstly, is there anyway i can manually input the vinyl width into Shiraz, I’m asking this because on a couple of occasions i have sent jobs to it that have come out huge and go off the page?

Also in Shiraz, when i rip say an Eps i get the whole document size(white space around come up, is there anyway i can crop this in Shiraz without opening it up in illustrator and changing the document setup to the print size?

Also next week i have to wrap a trailer and need to join/overlap the vinyl, is there any tips/things i should know about how to get the best results?

As i say some of these may seem a doddle to the experienced but its been alot to take in in a short period of time

    Many thanks

    Simon 😀

    Morning Simon.

I’m not sure how you can print too big and go off the page. If I try to do that, Shiraz automatically scales it down to the maximum size which will fit. That can be annoying if you don’t notice as well.

I’m no expert, far from it, but I think you need to get rid of the white space in Illustrator, or whatever your chosen design package is. Shiraz can only interpret whatever file it is sent.

HI there, I shall be upgrading to 6.4 soon, currently on 6.0 so this is how you do things in 6.0

To alter the roll width, it is in the ‘server’ screen, you have to go to the settings tab i think and then enter it, then close ‘design’ and re-open it and it will reflect your new roll width (yes its a pain)

Try using PDF with Shiraz, see how you get on and also. The Tile button can help with wraps
