    welcome to the pc60 club
i like mine it has good and bad points, cant beat it for clear small text 100%
don’t use it for any thing bigger than 100mm but can if its a real rush

I’m sure Roland do the head for carts
i got a head from them 3 months or so a go and fitted no problems
if you get stuck I’m sure me or the expert Chris wool will help out

happy printing oh and i have found printing at a setting of 300 dpi gets rid of most of the banding
    rich 😀 😀 😀
oh meant to say the head was only £200 ish i have seen on other sites people saying the head costs £500 rubbish i got mine direct from roland although im sure someone said there running out could be wrong

I think Roland are no longer interested in the colorcam. My advice to anyone who owns one would be to buy up a spare head now while they are still available

I bought a new head from Roland a couple of months ago, approx. £220 incl. vat & delivery.

They do exchange 200 used carts for new head, but I only had about 120 at the time, no good-you need the full 200! Anyone know what I can do with 120-ish used carts? (no rude answers please! :lol1: )

    Thanks all for answers!
Print one will give 10 black carts for 100 empties I think.
I paid £900 for mine with loads of empty carts and extras. Great deal I thought.
Lorraine, I am counting my carts later today. I might havesome extra. I will let you know. Maybe we can all chip in any spare carts ang get another 50 or so to you!
Interesting on trhe banding issue Richard. I will try that.
Thanks again to all. No doubt I will have more questions!? 🙄

We have given up on our pc-60 for printing here, the heads involve too much maintenance thus i send out all our print jobs to a trade supplier now.
We used to send away 200 empty carts and swap for a head, but even then you have to find somebody to fit it and service it.
After fitting and sorting the machine out ive found the head will only last a month tops before its knackered again.
Our pc-60 is just used for cutting nowadays.
If any of you have a solution for this then some advice would be good 🙁

But the head’s guarantee is 12 months isn’t it?

that they will only endorse if fitted by roland themselves, sorry i refuse to pay their prices for fitting etc especially when they charge us for somebodys travel from swansea to east anglia too on top of the price for fitting.
In the past ive got a local techno whizz kid to do it all for us, then once the head went again we sent it back and wouldnt provide us with another foc.
ive given up on the thing lol

Not what they rekon, this was a couple of years ago mind, but even so they said an engineer had to come from swansea to visit us to do the work.
    Ridiculous i know.
The warranty is if i remember correctly either 12 months or 200mtr square of usage, neither of these we have expired in the past.

I found it very easy to fit a new head, the new head comes with its own voltage setting eg 24.7v, you then need to set this voltage on the main board which is on the right hand side under the cover, setting the head in position is just a case of removing the old one and replacing although you will need to set this up correctly when its all back together , to get the contour cut in the correct place , that said you do need service manual for getting in to service mode. You also need a good volt meter and it has to be correct or you will damage the new head.

I’m want to fit a new head to my PC60 I have spoken to Roland who at first said I could have a service manual but then changed their mind and said they don,t allow this. Does anyone know where I can get hold of the service manual for this machine otherwise I will have to get Roland to fix it and they quoted me £444.00 for this plus there is the cost of getting it to Bristol. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Gazfob
I’ve got a pc 60 and the blade pressure adjustment is on the right side of the machine as you look at it from the front, above the ports, it is a slide adjustment and should say underneath it PEN FORCE. Thats how mine is anyway although they may have made slightly different models that vary. Hope this is of help to ypu.
