  • is re-positionable lamination layer available?

    Hi Guys,
Hard to explain without putting a pics up..but here goes

Need to make printed labels ( we have Gerber edge ) on vinyl.
    60mm x 12mm

The requirement is that the label must have a lamination layer "on top" that can be peeled back – to enable variable data to be written on label and then "stuck back" over the label by the user to seal it.

    Hope this simple explanation helps.

    Look forward to your assistance.

    Thanks

    Paul

i’ve never been involved with lamination, but i thought it sticks to the vinyl underneath,

maybe you could suggest they use a dry wipe marker on the outside of it ?

Hi Paul, it might help if you could give people a little more to go on, how often is the variable data going to be changed? Would it be daily, weekly … and how long would the labels be expected to last, obviously the more the variable data will be changed the quicker the labels will need changed.
Sorry if this is going to complicate things, just thought it might help!!!

if the laminate was slightly larger than the sticker it is to protect and a supply of these were supplied seperately and were appied when the details needed to be changed
Being slightly bigger they would be easier to peel off

Paul, we did something like this a few months ago.

we printed the labels and contour cut them to shape. hundreds of them…
we then cut the exact same in clear vinyl only.
they were all cut (scissors) into stacks of 10, paired up with the clear on a separate sheet.
that’s basically how the customer was given them and they gave them to their site tech guys…
these were stuck onto fridges and had to have some service date and code wrote on using a marker pen. then the clear was stuck onto to prevent the writing be rubbed off with the fridge being continually cleaned. (restaurants, cafes etc)
this works because, like you said, they just need to write on it the once… then peel sticker off the year after, or stick it on top again…

if the details had to be continually changed ide suggest a a little printed then laminated “pocket” . a bit like a tax disc holder but much smaller?
