  • is it possible to apply vnyl onto wheely bags?

Hello! A customer has bought 32 suitcases on wheels for our local figure skating club. They have asked us if we can apply vinyl to the bags (just simple wording) The material of the bag is a kind of canvas feel but its not rigid. The inside of the bag has netting, zips and other things which i think cancels out heat seal but was wondering if banner vinyl would work if heated slightly with a heat gun. If that fails, then I am pretty stuck for ideas!

    Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks for the swift reply Kev! What about using the vinyl as a mask and applying ink/paint of some sort (stencil)

Never done this before so wouldn’t know what sort to use????

Dorotape do a stencil vinyl. I’ve used this for some sports bags before.
Cut the vinyl, applied to bag, and then used vinyl spray paint. It works
OK as long as the stencil is stuck down firmly, otherwise the spray paint
    leaks under the edges.

    Cheers,
    Jamie.

Hi Jamie would you know to get the vinyl paint from and how durable would it be. What do you think about screen ink?.

I just got some from Halfords, standard black vinyl spray paint. The bags
went on a Everest expedition, and survived, so durability should be OK.
I would think screen ink would be fine, as long as it’s vinyl ink.
We’ve used screen ink before to spray onto curtain siders.

    Cheers,
    Jamie.
