Is it a bird, a plane, or an ad campaign?
Posted by Robert Lambie on December 18, 2005 at 5:46 pmi was going to a job the other day in the van when i spotted this thing in the sky a few miles away. armed with camera and stuck in traffic i zoomed in as far as i could and took a picture.
i have then used photoshop to zoom in further once i loaded the photo.
it was moving very slow, and as you can imgaine the size was huge!!! well it appeared huge and that was miles away. 😕 i thought it was a plane, but now looking at the zoom, it appears to be a helicopter?
anyway… i thought this was a brillian idea for an advertsing campagin, though not sure how they get away with it coz it did turn lots of heads in the traffic, which of course will cause crashes 😕
anyone know anything more about these? OR AM I BEING DUMB and its actually a space craft. 😕Peter Normington replied 18 years, 5 months ago 12 Members · 17 Replies -

Get some glasses Rob.
It’s the empty crisp packet you had just thrown out of the van window. Looks like cheese and onion flavour.
😀

lol a few Rangers fans chipped in last season Robert and hired a chopper to fly over Hampden park when celtic were playing in the final with a huge banner behind it saying “We Believed – Champions 2005″……….. cost us just over a thousand pounds 😀
-
crisps in deed :lol1: :lol1:
ive seen the ones that get towed a few times john but this thing was a monster. the size compared to the plane/copter pulling it gives you an idea? i guess the slow moving speed was due to the sheer haul? 😕

but John is right …. it does look like a crisp packet :lol1:

looks like a towel that they used at the wimbeldon tennis championships 😕

😀 Hey Rob, these advertising banners are pretty common here in OZ, especially around the beaches on weekends.
They are huge 😮 You’ll see a lot of them on new years day here, hauling the aussie flag etc. Helicopters pull them with weights on the base so they hang properly

looks like a magic carpet to me Rob couldn’t you see Ali Barber sat in the middle 😎

I reckon that was the Aurora hypersonic secret aircraft developed by the “Skunkworks” paid for by the CIA in America. They’d missed their in flight re-fueling and where forced to land at Glasgow airport to take on more fuel. Unfortunately (Because it is a “Black” project whose existence is denied) they didn’t have an account with the airport to supply more fuel. The pilot – Major Clint Gorwalski was forced to pay for more fuel using his American express card before the Authorites allowed him to tank up and continue on his way.
An American spokesman later denied the incident ever took place despite being shown the evidence of the American express card payment slip for the fuel. 😳
