  • International Sign Shows – which to attend?

Posted by Warren Beard on April 1, 2017 at 6:37 pm

    Hi All

Has anybody been or know if it’s worth while going to an international sign show and if so which would be the best one to visit with a good range of exhibitors.

    Cheers

    Warren

We did fespa when it was in London a few years back, it’s in different countries every year, 5 times bigger than sign uk

We also did sign China about 7 years ago. Huge show, perhaps more for importing goods

Went to Fespa Amsterdam last year.
If your interested in purchasing a serious sized printer etc for your business then it’s worth it. But it’s not like sign uk which is more geared to the smaller business market.

    Hi Warren
We will be at Fespa in Hamburg producing and installing the graphics for the HP stand.
Fespa is a really good show, lots on offer and imo definitely worth a visit [emoji106]

Not so much of a sign show but more vehicle related (Graphics wrapping etc)

SEMA in Vegas….Trying to get out to this show with Rob this year…guess it will be more of a social than anything :smiles:

My plan is to attend SEMA later this year in Las Vegas.
I have to meet with two companies from opposite ends of America and both attend this show, so two birds with the one stone, so to speak.

I like to watch TV shows like Overhaulin, West Coast Customs, Orange County Choppers, American Hot Rod etc. etc. all these shows and others like them exhibit at SEMA as well as the TV hosts that star in them. So it would be good for that too. May sound daft after typing that but i am far from a petrol head or into cars… i’m not, but love the creative artistic side to how these shows customise their vehicles which just so happens to also use a lot of custom features in paint effects, pin-striping, graphics and vehicle wrapping.

The exhibition is huge and lasts 5 days. There is a lot happens at the show with regards to vehicle wrapping which is another reason for attending. I tried to attend last year but my work load was way too heavy to be able to. So this year it is!
I am going alone, so if James manages to go too would make it all the better. not sure if we will make it back alive though! 😆

For those who have attended FESPA, are there exhibitors showing narrow web digital press solutions or is it wide and super wide kit?

    Regards
    Steff

Steff there’s the Print Show, which will probably more suit the machines you’re looking for. I have’t been but got bombarded by marketing to attend last year.

Thanks for that link David, a bit late in the year, but I shall glean some useful information from the site.

I would consider travelling to Europe to attend the right show if there was something sooner.

sigh….. I’ve just missed the label and packaging show which was the beginning of March…

Thanks everyone, Sema sounds good and yes seen it in some of those shows Rob [emoji41]. Fespa is probably the best option I guess, I went when it was in London and went to Drupa last year although for other reasons so didn’t get to see much of the signage side.

Was thinking of going to the states if they had a really good large show to get some "worldly experience" [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

If you’re looking more for a Sign Show then the ISA Sign Expo in US would be worth visiting. I used to go every other year but haven’t been for about 5 years.
It alternates between Vegas and Orlando each year and is always in April. This year it is Vegas 20th-22nd April

Its similar in size to Fespa but more targeted at Signs than Print

Thanks Stuart, funny enough I saw it advertised today in a magazine I was reading and looks interesting.

I have wanted to go to ISA Sign Expo for a good few years now, never have, and i am not a keen flyer and always busy around this time of year. Hence why SEMA late in the year is a bit more manageable for me.

I’m off to Vegas later this month for ISA. Always a great show. 3hr. Direct flight from here.

Looking forward to attending the ISA SignExpo with a few of our guys this year – fly out next week. Looks to be around 600 stands so will spend 2 days walking the halls…Rob, I’m not a keen flyer either but get yourself out there!

FESPA in Hamburg second week of May is also on the Radar and the exhibitor list looks good.
