Hi this is quite a complex one nowadays. If you want to be insured to drive any vehicle, you will need a traders policy, This will be very expensive. I used to have another business involved in car delivery.
Insurance companies would allow you to drive any vehicle providing that the vehicle is insured by the owner, this in general is no longer the case since the rules were changed and insurance companies now have to inform the dvla about driver details.
You could try Footman James, They specialise in traders policies, they are in birmingham, dont have their number to hand, But google should come up with it. Last time I enquired about driving customers cars they quoted about £3000
I do not drive customers vehicles on the road anymore, unless it is covered on their insurance.
Footman James also do normal commercial insurance for vans and I found them very competetive.

Depends on how many vehicles you have insured and the numbers of drivers you want to drive other peoples vehicles but we have atraders plicy with MMA (I think as I a at home just now and would need to check) we can drive anyones vehicle fully comp ( we ave 5 named drivers) and it cost less than £1500 per annum

Always check the policy details on a traders policy, when they say fully comp there are quite often restrictions and clauses. Sometimes for instance there is an upper limit to the value of the vehicle you can drive, say 10k. so you are restricted if you want to drive newish vehicles.
Insurance is only any good when you come to claim, and if its for the “big One” just make sure you are properly covered. Cheap insurance is not always good insurance. Traders insurance do not usally cover consequencial loss, so if you prang a customers van, he will be looking to you to hire a replacment for him whilst his van is repaired. this can take weeks, and quite often is more expensive than the repair itself.
In another life I had 20 years experience of moving other peoples motors, including Rolls Royce, Aston Martin etc. for the companies themselves. so all I am saying is read any policy very carefully, and weigh up the pros and cons.
