  • InkTec inks anyone?

Posted by Stephen Ingham on September 14, 2009 at 2:20 pm

Hi all, just a quick question, has anyone any experience of using InkTec inks for the Roland SP300?

The reason i ask is i have a company chasing me trying to sell 440ml cartridges at £50.00 each except they are buy one get one free, so for £50.00 i would get two cartridges…

    Cheers

    Stephen,

As much as I know Granthams sell them and reckon you can change to them without flushing and reprofiling etc.

They also reckon they are covered by the manufacturer so if the machine goes screwy then they will put it right at their cost (I’d want that in writing though!)

Who’s doing the buy one get one free then?? I must admid I’m tempted but have been down this road before with the BIOmg ones and was bitterly disappointed with them.

Hi Andy, thanks for the reply

    The company selling them is:
    Everything for Signs Ltd
    T: 0044 (0)7765 132552
    W: http://www.everythingforsigns.co.uk

My concern is what if i am not satisfied with the print results and as you say it sends my machine screwy?

    Cheers

before i say this, I HAVE NOT USED THEM, but i have heard from a few folk that they are not the best quality inks on the market. I say this based on feedback I’ve heard from a few technicians unconnected to each other. One described them as a dirty Ink…
anyway, just wanted to be clear on that as i don’t like giving negative feedback based on hearsay, but sometimes its worth mentioning. i am sure if i am wrong someone will correct me?

Hi Rob, cheers for that, i have now heard something on those lines and am now giving them a wide berth.

What is the best price for the standard inks that anyone has?

    Cheers

There are deals to be had on inks. I would start a thread in the members forum so not all the world can see though as this is a public forum.

You may get a better response then.

    Cheers

    Hello Stephen,
InkTec’s ink is good ink, I used it in the past for my Roland SJ 745 EX. I had problems with tubes clogging (capper tubes) – this ink was more aggresive than "eco-solvent" one. I don’t know what kind of tubes you have in your Roland, but if it’s with well known old pumps (mechanical one), for sure you have to change them, if you decide to use InkTec. Make a try, and if you start to have clogged nozzles after head cleaning (1 week after using this ink), change the tubes.
I have proposal – I found VERY GOOD INK from my partner in Germany and I’m very happy with it. If you are interested, I’ll give you his contact details.

I Have a yellow 440 cartridge i wouldnt use the ink tec or any other unknown brand for a roland.
It stopped my right head from functioning atall and i had to do a long clean everyday it just wasnt worth it, i was very worried that i would be having to find another 650 + vat + engineer’s time to sort it out…

Hi all, thanks for your replies.

I have, i expect as many have, decided for at least for the moment to stick with what i know and not change the roland ones, they may be a little more expensive but at least you know what you are getting…

    cheers

That is wise, i wish i never got into different Ink’s, ive had just little problems/difficulties until now when i was worried i would need an engineer out and a new print head for my sp 300v.
