Posted by signworkshop on October 16, 2004 at 4:17 pmHi all,
Can anyone give me some information on the Resolve CP52 solvent printer.
I need to know if the print quality is good or not!
Is it reliable?
Plus how much would it cost to to have one refurbished? Thanks in advance

i really dont know anything about this machine m,ate, but… if i am right is this not the machine that has the media problem. e.g. restricted to a special coated material?
i could be wrong but i am sure i have heard somthing in the past about the machine.
i dont thik i have heard bad about the machine just something about running costs or running costs.. again.. i could be wrong… ill see if someone else knows a bit about it. 😉 -
I nearly bought a resolve a few months back but after listening to people on here decided against it… It is basically an old type machine modified to take solvent inks.. If you look back a couple of months you will see a few posts about it
Cheers

Rob, it’s the machine that was replaced by the Grenadier. Print’s onto standard vinyls. It’s not as fast & the print quality isn’t as good though.
Still a good buy if you can get one at a good price though. We have customers that paid well over £20k for one a few years back & are still happy with them. They did have some problems with the inks originally but that is mostly sorted. They can be picked up very cheaply nowadays.
Have you been offered one Mark? what sort of money? There are plently of people out there that can service them, you need not go to a big dealer & pay loadsa money either.

Hi Brian,
Yes, I have been offered a Resolve printer at a very good price, it needs some work done on it, but i think it would worth it in the end, it will be better than spending 20k on a Grenadier or 10k on a cadet thats realy to small. Brian, can u service a Resolve and how much would u charge. I’ve had a quote from Roland and you can imagine how much they want to do it.
Does any on know a link to a website that I can get info on the machine, cuz I’ve tried everywhere on the net and nothing comes up.
Thanks in advance

Mark, a friend of mine has just had one serviced. Think he paid around £200 for the call out & labour plus a few qiud more for some cheap parts.
How do you know it needs work? what kind?
Let me know if you want to look at one working…

hi brian
what was the issue with the inks then mate?
im a bit dumb struck, “not hard i know ” but i was sure there was somthing about the machine. 🙄“for the record, ive nevr had one, & dont know anyone running one” but was sure i heard a few gripes in the past eather on here or another Board.
mark if the machine is like brian says mate.. reliable running costs good etc then why not go for it.. if you have the axtra width lower than a cadet and its full solvent then nice one.. speed isnt everything when it comes to printing.. yes its a binus but we dont tend to spit out jobs they way we do on cutters.
is the resolve a print & cut?

Hi Brian,
I’ve been told that the machine has been standing idle for about 6 months, so its bound to be all dryed up inside.
Hi Rodert,
Yes the Resolve is a print and cut. It does everything a Grenadier can do, but a bit slower.Brian, can you let me have thew companies name and number that serviced your mates Resolve. it would be great if you can.
Thanks in advance
