My wife went in to labour on this day last year, I made her push as hard as she could to try have an Independance day baby but she missed it by 1 hour 😕

Thanks folks.
Spent yesterday afternoon/evening at the community park in my old hometown.
They always have a two-day picnic with fireworks both nights.
I felt like quite the celebrity as I had made all their new park signs, and they finally got most of them installed.
Also lettered a big firetruck which was on display there.
Today I will stay home with my family so I can get good and drunk!

I landed in NY on the 4th of July in 2000, I was staying in New Jersey and could hear the fireworks in NY. Was far too tired after 25hrs non stop flying to go see them but watched it on the news and WOW

Yup, they do put on quite the display. A large fireworks maker is right here in my state, Zambelli.
My nephew Ben was born July 4th 1979. His given name is Benjamin Franklin.
No "state stores" (liquor stores) are open today but maybe the beer distributor is open. We can’t buy beer in the supermarket here, and I need to go out for some hot dog buns.
No drinking yet…

Seems there’s a tornado watch till 9pm.
Looks like we might have some Mother Nature fireworks!
