i can see how that works Tim, but only good if you’re not fitting flush to the soffit, i recon you’d need to be an inch away for a decent top hanging rail like that?

You need to think in 3 dimensions Hugh. The top rail doesn’t need to run the full length – just a series of brackets with spaces in between. The Tray can then be offered up into position(but to the left or right of the brackets) then slid sideways to interlock with the brackets.

Nice one Tim – I’ll remember that next time I come across the same problem 😀

    Good idea Tim

or you just insert rods into the soffit, or alternatively drill holes into it and have the rods/bolts fixed to the tray and drill the holes in the soffit, like this. easier to align and would also work if the tray had to be fitted to a recess on top and sides.

Here’s a drawing that shows how we make trays for M&S and the like when it’s to be installed under a soffit – only one extra fold in the tray panel, no fiddly brackets and much easier to install too.

Cheers Guy. That’s the ones I was on about. Had I thought/seen of it before I ordered the tray, I would have got Ashby to incorporate a bend like that into mine. Still, fitting brackets is no great shakes & I know for next time.

Thanks for taking the time to post though mate!

    Cheers,

    Gwaredd.
