Illustrator CS Cutting Query
Hi all,
First time ive wrote on here for a few years.
I was wondering (maybe stupidly) is there some kind of add on or something where it can let me Cut directly from Illustrator CS to my plotter?
Any replies gratefully appreciated.

Depends on the make of your cutter I have a Graphtec and they supply a program called Cutting Master 2 which works as a plugin for Illistrator and I find very good and easy to use, it is basically a very cut down version of Flexi only thing i have to remeber is to change the cutter to GPL mode instaed of HPGL mode.

Thanks for your reply, i didn’t actually see that there is a topic about all of this already on here ooops sorry.
Ive had decent sign cutting program’s before but prefer doing all my work in illustrator and just to save time and hassle id like to cut straight from Illustrator.
To be honest with you i have never heard of programs mode, ive know of HPGL and DMPL mode.
I will look into purchasing Cutting Master 2 from Graphtec so thanks again for your advice, it really is appreciated.
Oh and after reading the other threads i will make sure i subscribe to a membership soon haha.

It is free from Graphitec

as it will only work with Graphtec cutters.

Most other cutter manufacturers supply an Illustrator plug-in in the box.
For instance, Finecut with Mimakis.
