Talking of pcs problems….. I still can’t get my media player to play sound. My pc has sound but not through any media player, so I can’t play my music aarrrgghhh!
I’ve tried to download an updated driver for my motherboard but it keeps timing out and not finishing the download 👿 it got 24.3mb from the 25.1mb programme and stopped!!!!! 👿

windows media player 11 is out altough its a beta version but ive had no problems with it yet. And Windows Vista is not far away now anyway 🙄
Other option, remove WMP from your windows components list and use Itunes..

The usb speakers worked fine for a couple of weeks before it stopped.
Andrew, I’ll have a go at that and see if it makes any difference.

I’ve just run it too and it cleaned a whole pile of stuff from my PC. Hopefully this will solve my problem with being chucked out of the internet all the time.

I trust your judgement Nik so I ran this program on my home PC.
It picked up on a lot of "spyware" and the PC seems to run much quicker now.
However, I won’t try it on my PCs at work until I am satisfied it really does have a benefit without any downside.

no worries phil..im the same wont run it on works pcs…but it made a huge difference to my house pc always thought i had mines totally clean, anyway glad it worked…. 😉

Hey just my tuppence, but I find winamp excellent for playing music, wmp isn’t half as crisp, and with the sound cranked up it crackles (for me anyway, could be settings somewhere!) but i find winamp is a lot better IMO. Haven’t used itunes mind… for videos use vlc player (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/) it plays almost anything and it’s free!!

Cheers for the link, I’ve just run it (I did back everything up first though!)
Found loads a rubbish which has now been cleaned-seems to be running well. I’m now going to run it on my laptop, which is as slow as hell! -
Just a quick "heads up"
Don’t install this on a windows 98 PC. It will cause it to lock up and even after re-booting will lock you out. Only way around this is to Ctrl Alt Del during boot up and shutdown the program running called AWC. Then un-install.
Works well on XP though 😀
