funny enough our business has been without it for 5 days now. only just came back to life 5 minutes ago. our business works from virtual servers, so this week has been fun and games i can tell you. 😕 🙄
did virgin media want to know?
did they offer help or compensation for downtime?
even though it ended in over 30 local companies being crippled?
the answer is a big fat NO!OK, now i have that off my chest. where were we? 😀

The CD’s picture just had me in stitches :lol1: :lol1:
If my internet went down I’d be crippled as well seeing as most my work is web design, and the entire signage business is pretty much ran on Google Apps

I’d be absolutely fwnannied!
And I wouldn’t have been able to answer this either….

Don’t have internet connection in the workshop. It died about 2 years or more ago and I haven’t missed it at all. Don’t have any time to go on the net as I am busy working to make the £’s and when I had it I rarely used it. Do all my internet stuff when I get home.

I’d be stumped without it.
I hardly ever send any quotes out by post these days – it’s all done via email. And today I have been sending Invoices out via email becuase of the postal strike. As a result I’m thinking of doing all my invoicing via email.
The internet has sneaked up on me. When I first started I never used it (it barely existed back then) but gradually I have come to rely on it more and more for almost everything to do with my business – including advertising and sending artwork as well as the afore mentioned uses.

i couldn’t work just now without the Internet id be stumped, but it might happen with a solar storm one day 😮

The internet is a bit of a double edged sword.
It has made customers come to expect instant attention via email, and instant van drawings.
On the other hand, without it, we wouldn’t have access to the great UKSB resource.
It ain’t all sweetness and light but, on the whole, I think I’d rather have the internet than not.
And I bet some of the younger folks, and newer entrants to the trade, wonder what the hell I’m talking about. *rofl*

I rely on the internet at work a lot, i always do google image searches to find out how the contours of a vehicle look in the flesh from different angles or to see examples of how somebody else managed to fit graphics into awkward shaped panels. Or i look for specific logo’s for jobs, find fonts and use this website. I don’t think i could cope without it.
But i did this job ten years ago and we managed without it then, it’s probably like calculators, once you’ve got it, you forget how to do the sums on your own.
