I would switch the “black” color to white or VERY light grey if possible,
and put an outline of the same color on the blue portion.
I like simple things, but to me, this lacks contrast.

    hi rich
i would keep the navy, but were you have a shadow, make that a dark grey. i always think if a shadow is to be used, it should be seen as a shadow. i.e. if you have a white circle on a red back ground, but casting a shadow. that shadow should be a dark version of the red background, the extreme on a bright red would be a Burgundy shadow.
with your silver van, ide say use a darker silver vinyl if you can, but extreme case, dark gray.
if you are using the shadow to lift the blue logo then as jill says use something lighter like a white or something, but even then ide say use an outline as opposed to a shadow.
dark blue and a black shadow viewed from a distance will become one, so lacks impact.

    Or……..

If the customer is asking you to keep it simple should you be using a shadow at all? 😀

In my experience the usual reason for the “keep it simple” request is that they don’t want to pay too much and in these cases I would rather use the available money to make the graphics bigger and more eye catching rather than using a shadow.

    Just my opinion. 😀

shadows if they want to spend the extra but i think the NS side is about face the OS reads correctly dont see why you put the blue at the back of the NS

change the black text to white with a grey shadow slightly darker than the silver van should make the lettering cearer.

🙁 Sorry mate VAN looks good .I,M A BRUSH SIGN PAINTER JUST STARTED WITH THE VINYL AND NEW TO SIGN UK I THOUGHT IT WAS A NEW MESSAGE.
One thing I have learnt in sign working you could be the best sign writer of lettering but layout colour and choice of styles of alphabets could make your hard work look bad.Your finished result looks good.

    regards Alex
