  • Ideas of a New print head cost please?

Can anyone give me a rough idea of how much it will cost to put a new black printing head on a SP300. I don’t have it on contract and am dreading having to change it. 😳 😥
I asume this will be an engineer job. (chat.) 😥

From memory it’ll be approx £450 for the print head and depending on the engineer £180 -200. I got him to service the machine while at it too.

    + VAT of course

    Cheers

I’d say around £550-£600 + VAT for the head and a callout (usually around £160 + VAT). Depending on where you are and where the closest engineer is.

    Mike, try Digiprint.
Good prices and very good service.
They are easy to fit if you take your time.

from memory ide say about that too…
I got ours from Digiprint Supplies too. if no special offer running on the heads, use the advert code on the homepage for discount. further discount again for UKSG members. just remember the UKSB codes cant be used along with a special offers they are doing.

My problem is my machine sits idle for long periods as I don’t get a lot of use out of it so this sort of expense is not good for the pocket. 😥

I suspect I would be in the same position and that is why I outsource all my print. It’s a bit of a chicken and the egg situation ie would I sell more print/push digital more if I had the convenience of my own machine. So tempted – too broke:(

Don’t get me wrong, the machine is 7 years old and there has been very little problem until now. My work that I had it for has dried up but is still used but at the moment work has been a bit quiet and I need this expense like a hole in the head.

Are you sure the head is faulty and not something else causing you to think the head needs replacing?
