I guess this is OK to show off about now it’s out there in the public domain.

I’d like to thank Graphtec and the show organizers for running the competition
and I’m really looking forward to getting my shiny new plotter.

And well done to all the other entrants, great panels.

    Cheers Graphtec

I read the link this time, it seems like a lot of panel swaps I’ve seen over the years.
Plenty of promises with few panels.
    Warren I love yours.

Neil enjoy your Graphtec, that’s what I have and although I hate the tracking it makes weeding easy.

Thanks everyone for the congrats, still can’t believe I’ll be getting a brand new plotter to play with 😀
I’m using a Graphtec at the mo and they’re great machines so running another
along side it will be really cool.
Good fun to do the panel too, being able to get creative without too many customer / cost constraints.

    Thanks again,
    Neil (sporting a big 😀 )

    well done Neil,

Thank you to all that entered and may be next time a few more of you may get involved

Neil that’s got to be the best paying 2ft x 2ft sign you ever made 😉

Warren it was down to yours and Neils. but hay we get to swap panels.

And before anyone asks i entered for the swap and was not allowed to win

    🙄

well done all and thanks to Phil at graphtec for donating the plotter as a prize, and the Sign & Digital UK Team for making it happen.

thats great news neil, well done mate… good for you. 😛

Paul, i actually intended in giving it a go… had something in mind to do but only had two weeks to get it done in and had a pile of work on to clear so i could afford the 3 days attending the show so never managed. maybe next time! 😀 oh and next time make sure we all know about it a bit sooner, i only found out about it as a result of Phill Fenton telling me… next time i will see if i can do anything to help you promote it a bit better on the lead upto it.

and well done Graphtec GB for putting up the fantastic prize!

i think everyone that submitted a panel had their name put in a bag and drawn in pairs. so each pair swapped panels… "i think" thats what was happening when it was finished but could be wrong.

    10 / 10 for observation Harry.

Gorilla Glue it is complete with gold leaf.

Phill, don’t look too close 🙄 and I’m looking forward to getting your panel.

Rob, that was the first I knew when Phill mentioned it so
in a way I owe it all to Phill 😀

The Idea is that everyone who enters gets a different panel at the end and can enjoy/learn from someone else work. even if you don’t win you still get something out of it.

Rob – yes it was all done a little last minute this year, not giving people all that much time to get a panel done along with getting the paying work out.

I could well take you up on your offer to help promote nexts years, if we have one, will be talking to the guys from the show in the next few weeks.
They all seemed happy with how the demo area went, got some good crowds, i did not stop from 10.15am till show close! There was even talk of doing it again next year but bigger 😀

Didn’t think it would work at letters the size of Extravaganza…..nice one. Did you let it do it’s thing and sand it back or is their another method?

I did get a few wayward expandy bits 😕 but I cut those back. On closer
inspection it shows but I thought it added to the whole antique/old worldy effect. So I didn’t worry about it too much.

Yep the smaller lettering worked OK but I did have a nightmare moment when
I thought I’d spelled Extravaganza wrong and that Gorilla Glue sticks
like the proverbial to a blanket 😀

Thanks Shane……..looking forward to getting my new plotter.

I’d like to add to the description of mine that it was also done on brushed ali composite, hand cut to shape the letters at the bottom, and has cut vinyl, print and cut, fluorescent and reflective vinyl incorporated 😉

It was fun doing it anyway and obviously I only have modern skills and not traditional like Neils awesome panel and a well deserved win indeed.

    Cheers

    Warren
