then it stops and beeps error 07
with all the stars – does that seem to point to nothing being read from the slider?

when i switch on and off, it does the same thing over and over

    I also got a breif 09 hdc/ioc – is that a firmware update required?

    is it ‘just’ ribbons/connections

also how do I update the firmware – whats the latest
    -0 think i am 5.02
whe I switch on in maintenance, it always goes to firmware, once it didn’t and i could actually get the head ranks in

also checked the jhi-low sensor and it doesn’t switch

    anyone?

    sldo didn’t detect media width

of the 5 large flat head cables is it the top one that carries power to
    the cutter
    the width ensor
    the hi lo sensor.

non of the above work, even if the slider was at fault for heads – surely I would get the above?

is there a fuse for the head assembly on the main board

Not being funny, but do you think it may be better to call an engineer?

I have to agree. You seem to be having a lot of problems with it and a couple/few hours with a good engineer will definitely help you diagnose things easier in future.
