I’m thinking about doing my first part wrap, I need advise!

good afternoon folks!!

I have a customer who has 2 transit pickups he wants signing up. he wants it similar to his business card which has a blue and black swishy bit in the corner. Now before i spend to much time on the design i want to know if anyone can advise me on how best to go about fitting and which vinyl would be the best to use having only having fitted signs to slight curves using Metamarks M7.

so since my last post I’ve looked into it and i think I’m going to use Graficast colored sign vinyl. will this need to be laminated? I guess it will need to be.

If anyone thinks I’ve made a bad choice please let me know, any advise will be greatly received. 😀

I’m not familiar with Grafityp stuff but if it’s pigmented vinyl (‘i.e coloured not printed) it shouldn’t need laminating.

I would fit this with cast pigmented vinyl, dry, top to bottom. Ignore the recess and go over it, you can heat the vinyl and work that in afterwards. Make sure you heat it well after fitting. Then apply the black stripe over the top. Do not apply any heat to the vinyl until it is all down or you will end up with a wobbly edge or just a big mess.

complete overkill, M7 or Avery700 will stay in on that panel without any problems, there are no deep recesses, good dry application, and feed into the groves rather than stretch in and you’ll have no problems

If laying into the recess be careful when you get to the back as the recess doesn’t go all the way to the back of the vehicle, it tapers out just behind the rear door. You could do that little bit separately though.

Looking at similar job myself. What technique/material did you use? and how was the installation?
