    HI all,

Some fo**er decided to break into my van yesterday!

I’ve just sold the paint business i had and all the kit has gone out the van and i’ve unsigned it ( or whatever you call it ) so just a plain white empty van.

This tw*t decided he/she would use a screwdriver and lever the small front 1/4 window causing it to break and denting/scraping the door paint!

Why not just break it or knock on my door and ask for the keys, i would rather give them £10 to p*ss off and leave the van!

Nothing was on show but ransacked the front ripping up maps etc and causing mess. Damage is about £100 worth.

I’m trying to start a sign/corporate clothing business up so every penny counts and these idiots just come along and cause all kinds of sh1t.

Anyway nobody sees this happening but as soon as i start patching the window all the idiot neighbours come out!

    ‘have you been broken into?’
‘no just thought i’d remove the glass and replace with cardboard’
‘my sons car got broken into a year last thursday’
‘like i want to know that’
    ‘then it was stolen again’
    ‘that’s nice’
‘oh look they put their house up for sale, i’m going to call and see how much’
    ‘you do that, bye’

this kind of conversation happened 3 times in fifteen mins, are these people for real.

So like Shane i was mad as hell.

    thanks for listening

    cheers Shane,

at the moment it just seems like 2 steps forward and 1 step back, i sold the last business and just covered loans etc so not much left to start again and this sort of thing don’t help.

Lee, unfortunately it happens all the time, not much consolation when it happens to you I know but just be glad that you didn’t have a lot of gear in the van at the time as the loss could have been a lot more than it was. Sounds like Vandals if there was nothing on show and they just made a mess and didn’t try to break in to the back or didn’t you have a bulkhead fitted.
On a more upbeat note good luck with your new business venture, what made you decide to change in the first place?

    Hi Martin,

They did go in the back coz the side door was slightly open, but all that’s in it is a generator thats fastened to the floor so can’t be moved, there is a full bulkhead.
I’ve parked the van in the same place for 2 years while full of kit and signed up with no attempt theft, so i suppose i was lucky it was emptied a couple of weeks ago.

I decided to change for a few reasons, the chemicals/lacquer seem to give me stomach probs and used to get a rash on my face at least once a week, knee problems, it’s very weather dependant as i worked outside and i was bored because there was no challenge and every job was identical.

Got a few leads this week so hoping i’m going to make some cash, if not i might have to take part time work.
