I just received my copy of Brian’s Impact library 2009.

I’m really impressed with this. It was very easy to buy, arrived in just over a week and from the looks of the number of vehicles is great value for money.

Much much better than what’s available in Australia.

Well done to the guys at Impact :2thumbs:

Has it got the Ferrari F60 on it? I’m thinking about wrapping my car.

Just need to reduce the final design to 1/10 scale.

not only that, but if the outline you need is not on the disc, send them a mail and they do their best to source it for you…great service which gets my vote

I’ve sent 3 emails over the last few days to them and am still waiting for a response 😕 They were quick to call me back to sell me the disk but now I can’t get them to reply.

Disk is excellent though, just wish I could get the same service as the ladies 😉 :lol1:

yeah I got it mate but still no reply from them 😕 a simple "we’ll get back to you when Brian returns" would suffice so I know they are alive 😉

    It’s a good thing it’s not urgent.

I was looking for one of these, apparently it’s a Merc 709 or 711 bus 😕

Warren, I think you will find that the bus is not a merc factory model.
It will have been built by a specialist coach builder, so I may be wrong, but hardly likely something Brian will have.
It doesnt look hard to measure up and draw, though.
If you know who built the body, quite often they will have signwriters drawings available, if you contact them

what about a digital picture of the side and scaling it up?
for quickness i just did about 8 odd shaped vehicles and tankers etc this way this week.

That is what I would normally do but the owner is waiting for it to arrive and he was told it was a Merc 709 or 711 and wanted a quote for a wrap so is just an enquiry at the moment. I by no means think that now I have the disc I no longer have to put any effort in to doing the actual work of measuring but the reason I bought the disc is also mainly to be able to work out sizes for quotes etc and this just happened to come in days after buying the disc so thought I would ask if they had it by any chance, you never know.

It’s still no excuse for being ignored 😥 :lol1:

    Thanks anyway guys

    cheers

Unfortunatley Brian is on holiday, and even though he checks his email on a regular basis, he cant receive it where he is.
He apologises for any inconvenience. and will be back in the office Monday.

I don’t want to blow this out of proportion as it’s a good product and it’s not urgent but who leaves their business to go on holiday and doesn’t even set up an out of office or something if the people left behind won’t talk to customers? Surely he must be losing business shutting the business down while he’s away?

Just very strange it is 😛

I can wait and have no problems with it.

    cheers

    if you call their number
Paul will answer, or get back to you.
Brian did not expect not to be able to receive his mail in America, so he did not set up alternative arrangements.
As he is the person that draws the outlines then he cannot delegate whilst he is on a well deserved holiday.
Like I said Warren, Brian probably will not have the outline you need anyway, its a custom built body, and to be honest to quote for a wrap, all you would need to know is the length and height.
So no, lets not blow this out of proportion.

OK guys, like I said I have no problem, I was simply responding to the thread about excellent service which I did have when buying the disc but now nothing!

I just find it hard to believe that you feel it’s a good idea for Brian to go on Holiday which he is entitled to do and let his business suffer for it. It’s not about the outline any more and actually never was, it was simply me giving my opinion and experience on Impacts follow up (or lack there of)

What if it was urgent, are we not entitled to a years free updates? It’s part of the cost and agreement even if it doesn’t say when they will send it to you 🙄

I’m not making digs just saying what has happened, I would have thought everybody else would also like to know why Impact seems to have shut down now that Brian is away, isn’t there some sort of concern regarding it as it could be doing him a massive disfavor and I bet he will not be happy this is happening and could be more than just me.

What else can I say 😕

I am not taking sides by any means mate, but i often go off on signing tours down south for days on end and forget to set my "out of office responder". luckily i have a blackberry and still get emails. but lets take the past fornight when blackberry has locked me out of my emails, and the past 4 days virgin has been outside our work trying to fix a damaged cable. so i have had zero communication during working hours due to two things completely outside my control.
even when i went on holiday i had mobile netbook with broadband connection but for some reason when i was abroad it did not work. again, without the blackberry ide have been stuffed for the fortnight and so would all the emails coming into me….

maybe hes like me…. "if it wasn’t for bad luck, i wouldn’t have any luck!" 😀

These boards are about letting folk express their views Warren feels he has a point so he’s entitled to air it, if everyone gangs up on him it make others wary about posting something they are unhappy about and makes Warren feel the need to defend himself and making things a bigger issue than they are. Some folk have had a good experience some have had bad – Lets move on.

no one is ganging up on Warren,
I Know him and Brian personally. (love them bothxxxx)
so I can also express my view without bias.
    its not an issue really,
so just to make things clear,
UK signboards are open to anyone to air their views, but they must be prepared for a response,
I am not on any side,
just adding my comments and information

I’d keep my head down if I were you mate, you could be blamed for starting it.

For what its worth, I don’t think anyone would me more upset than brian for not being contactable.

I know from my own experience, that if I’m out of contact for a few days I get worried that my clients are being disadvantaged. Like Brian too, the business is basically me, so even tho my dad takes my calls in my absence, it doesn’t help if I don’t have communication.

The reason for the thread was just to give credit where I believed credit was due. Not a lot of people do this without some ulterior motive

I know what you say mate. It was nice of you to acknowledge good value, and as a result, I’ll be buying the disc too, I’m sure Brian Appreciates the post, as I’m sure he also appreciates Warrens comments.

Having met Brian, he is a top bloke who works hard to provide a great product.

i completely agree with you mate, but is this not whats happening?
lee posted a positive and praise for a company/product.
warren exercises his rights to reply and give his view. granted, this is followed by more pro than con replies but this doesn’t mean its a gang-up on anyone because more disagree than agree?

if someone posted "i love signlab" and it is followed by allot of tried and tested experienced replies on the software knocking it to hell, would this be a gang-up on the guy for daring to post a good comment on signlab or regarded as constructive criticism?

anyway… i like to think of both warren and Brian as good friends and have met them both for a drink and meal… ide honestly be the first to bin the post if i thought it was getting out of hand.

anyway, back on track eh… sorry lee :lol1: 😉

    Rob, Peter,

ha ha jeez its my turn now!

Being told to calm down and not to blow things out of proportion even in jest when someone just wants to know why he is being ignored from a company I thought was just unreasonable.

It appeared to me that Warren was getting defensive because excuses were being made on behalf of Impact, the boss being on holiday isn’t an excuse for being ignored, it just isn’t? I cant believe that anyone thinks it it is and its certainly not constructive criticism.

I don’t mean to upset anyone either I felt Warren deserved an answer not an excuse. I’m surprised the thread went the way it did thats all?

For the record I have on more than one occasion highly recommended Impacts Disc on the boards without question I think they are brilliant and buy the latest disc every year without fail, I wasn’t going to say this but as Warren have had similar difficulties with asking for new outlines and general communication with Impact.

    Nigel
