    Hi folks

Just thought ide post this tonight as I feel I have neglected the site a little the last wee while.
The reason? Well the main reason was workload, we have been hell of a busy with signs and print this weather, which of course is what pays the bills and needs seeing too first.
That said, I have struck up some cracking deals with new suppliers for the UKSG & I have tons of new content coming to the boards. When I say lots, I mean lots. Videos demos, product tests, contests and more.
    So why the hold up?
Well I moved house a few months back, the sale of my old house was very quick but the entry day, was way down the line. As missive signing came about, the buyer starting β€œplaying me”. It was that playing that has taken up not lots, but nearly all my free time. If not on the phone, then running around, then working at the house. To cut the story short I handed keys over β€œthis afternoon 2:30pm” and they started moving in 3pm. Money in the bank and I can now get on with things. (Thank god for that!)
so tonight, i am having a couple of beers, but not much though. I am meeting up with UKSG member in the morning and spending most the day with them. really looking forward to it too… so its sober bob, for me tonight. results of this meeting will be seen on UKSB soon enough, but I have to keep some things under my hat for now. πŸ˜‰
back to the site, well as of Monday, I plan full steam ahead. I have been banking news, demos, tests etc like I have said. so come Sunday Monday you will see the ball rolling and getting back up to speed.
in the mean time, anyone with β€œany suggestions” for what they would like to see come to the site, whether it be a type of demo, product test, forum, you name it. ill consider it! πŸ˜‰

So please… strike while the irons hot… tell me what you want and it’s yours. πŸ˜›

Hey Rob. Selling houses, isn’t that a job and a half! Absolute nightmare.

I recently purchased a new place, anything that could go wrong did. Solicito lost the papers ‘on someones desk’ for a day, made me miss settlement, so had to pay $700 penalty to the old owner πŸ˜•

Stupid thing is, we used the same solicitor. He lost my papers, then told the old owner that as there was a delay, he could ask a penalty, so they did.

I suggested the solicitor pay, but would not hear of it πŸ‘Ώ

Always nice to see the site progress. Wondering if we could see a statisic on the main page of member %’s of countries represented on UKSB’s?

Just a thought, thats all. Thought it might be good to make new visitors aware that other countries are represented here too….

    I’ll get me coat….

Looking forward to some new stuff.

I would definitetly like to see some more video demos, I think it is a big help for those of us still getting our feet wet (sorry Rob I know you don’t like that word). I know you had a couple of vids in the works: “taping up”, “etched glass”.

Not sure of the amount of US subscribers but maybe you can strike a deal with some suppliers here in the States.

How bout an area related to the business part of the sign biz. Maybe we can share promotional ideas, order forms, instructional sheets, pricing sheets etc.

    Ok I will stop now.

i think a business area i might be good, i for one would find it of benefit, especially regards minor legal matters, customer rights etc etc, not all these things are real easy to find the answers too, well…not without an expensive advisor of some kind, so to pick at others experience, and to offer any i may have, could make for a useful section f the forum,

oh yeah, meant to say Rob, Curry will be fine ! i’m sure Jill will take care of the rest of your ofer πŸ˜‰ gonna do my best to be at sign uk, be great to meet ya’ll,

I like Bryans idea of a business section too, think that could be beneficial to lots of newbies in particular.
I know we have a forum where we can post and ask about suppliers but what about a directory page type thingie…. if a supplier name is posted it can be added to a categorised listed that we can access and find easily. Kinda like the sign directory book that pops through the door (that I always lose)….. ?

As for your house move….. I don’t envy you moving at this time of year! I know you’re only a couple of miles away now…. see you in Tescos then! πŸ˜€

i agree Marcella a new area like this would be beneficial, covering day to day business headaches. πŸ˜• i have actually already created a forum for this, (hidden just now) i will open it once i think i have sussed the proper way of running/having one. i think what i am trying to say is i want to open something if done correct, not “another” forum on our list that wouldn’t really get used or take months and months to have a few decent topics in it. if that makes sense?
the whole “pricing” of work alone is harder than i think people take into consideration. location, the customer etc all differ when pricing work. so a strategy is needed to cator for us all, regardless of location. “i think” i know how to do this, but like i say. needs thought about more before just doing it. so i recon by mid January i can have something done that we should see some benefit from.

hmmm im babbling now eh? πŸ˜• :lol1:

this forum is open just now, “new one” suppliers directory. a bit like you mentioned. that will fill up for sure. already getting good response and not even telling folk its there :lol1:
