• I’ll be out…

Posted by steve geary on December 2, 2005 at 5:08 am

Thought I’d add this note since I’ve posted a bunch of work tonight..
I’ll be gone for two days to Atlantic City for signworld USA, so i won’t be on line.
It’s now past midnight, and I’ve been in this shop WAY too much lately, so tomorrow I’m gone. first day off in a long time.
Meeting up with Bryan Cabrera and hopefully Leigh and her Husband. We should have a good time. I don’t know about everyone else, but I’m gonna’ drink! Hopefully I’ll get the other UKSB members drunk as well, but I’ll drink for all of you guys… Especially Big G. I owe him a couple. If i start having drinks for Jill, i won’t be able to stand!

So anyhow after posting all the work, I’d still love some criticism. Just won’t read it ’till Monday. I still need to improve my design, every thing’s looking blah to me lately.

Thanks, and have a great weekend!

You’re gonna drink are you Steve? In America?

I was out for a meal a couple of months ago. I had a couple of gin and tonics beforehand and ordered a bottle of red wine to go with my food. The waiter looked at me with pity because, in his eyes, I obviously had a serious drink problem. That was Franklin North Carolina, and when I spoke to the head waiter afterwards he said that it was because the town was in the bible belt. He also said that that was the reason we were the only ones in the restaurant on that Wednesfay night – everybody else was in church.

Vermont. They wouldn’t serve me with a second beer because there was a little left in my first one. Apparently it is against the law to have two drinks on the table at the same time! I asked what would happen if I wanted a whiskey chaser and the waiter said it would be no problem as he would stand by the table and hold my beer whilst I drank the whiskey!

Florida. At the Holiday Inn in Gainesville I couldn’t get a Bacardi on a Sunday night. Against the law to serve spirits on the sabbath. That was brilliant – a bar where I couldn’t drink or smoke. I told the waitress to p1ss off home because she was just wasting her time by being there.

North Carolina. Graham County is just dry. If you don’t take it in with you then you ain’t getting a drink. Period.

    I could go on.

The US is a wonderful country, but you’ve certainly got some strange habits. 😀

    Seriously, have a great time.

Look out for my homies, Steve….they’ll be in the Bullpen.
Watch out for Ryan Young, Harris Kohen, and all those weird pinstripers.
They’ll probably have lots of gossip about me.
I do want to go to AC some year, but it’s always on Justis’ birthday.
    Love….Jill

    Have fun Steve.
John, you need to come out to the West coast. It’s a whole different world.

Had a great time at the show….
Met up with Bryan and Leigh at various times…
It was very productive from the business standpoint. I learned quite a bit about some new products and procedures that i wasn’t familiar with previously. And got some good contacts with suppliers.
Would have liked to party a bit more, but…..

    Jill,
The bullpen was Awesome! Didn’t get to talk with too many people.. evryone was swamped. I did chat with Brian the Brush for a while…. and the dude with the grey Dreds (don’t know his name) but he was just blowin’ me away with his airbrushing.
I kept yelling out your name just to see all the heads turn! 😀

    Robert….
I totally forgot my camera.. I can’t believe it myself!

.. and Mr. Childs.. tsk, tsk
You Certainly need a new tour guide while in the states..
We’ll hook you up on your next trip!
You must have had the Morman guide to partying with you on previous occasions..

I didn’t get any pics either. Ron (my business partner) took the digital camera and when we finally decided to take some pics on the last day he couldn’t find it. Thought it was lost but he found it when it was too late.

    John,
You definitely need to visit New York, you can party to your hearts content. Give me a shout if your out this way can send you out for some of the best cocktails on the planet!

Sign Show was really great. Got to use 3M control tac(?)-great stuff, took a couple of workshops and seminars. The digital printers were incredible. Think I am hooked on the Mutoh Tucan LT but the Seiko was a nice machine as well.

I will comment some more when I catch up with work.

Steve, the Bullpen is much like a real Letterhead meet….we gotta get you to one soon.
Brian the Brush is quite a talented fella….he usually is the SignGold rep.
I believe the International is this June, in Cincinnati (about 10 hours away)
at the Zoo, it’s gonna be great. Attended my first meet there in 1994.
    Love…..Jill
