I hope I am not the only one here that makes mistakes?
Here is a short list of the mistakes I have made this month.
Maybe others can learn from these. Most probably I need to slow down…- Changed the colour of a banner, but didn’t include the website colour to match. I printed two of them before I noticed.
- Put up two signs in the wrong order. Had to go back and change them.
- Applied vinyl to a glass window, but the vinyl is now coming away at the edge. It was air-release vinyl, but I had to use a bit of water to straighten the graphics when they veered off to the left. This is the result, and it’s only been on a couple of months. I have to go and replace this.
- Agreed to apply pinstripes to compound curved bike parts using brittle reflective material. It broke while applying, and took me an hour to remove the vinyl. The mistake I made there was agreeing to do the job. I would say it is impossible to do.
- The printer picked up some fluff while printing a dark blue banner, and red drops went all over the face. Hard to see on the printer, but unacceptable and needs to be reprinted.
- An Aluminium frame wrapped in Avery Supreme is starting to lift at the corners.
- I applied vinyl to a pickup truck, but it was not level so I had to redo it. Twice.
- Dropped lots of dots and commas while weeding.
- While dry-applying frosting to a window, and pulling away the release paper, a letter was stretched and ruined so the whole thing has to be done again.
- Left my expensive ladder at a job an hour and a half away, so I had to send somebody to go and pick it up
- Forgot a sentence on the back of a van, just four small words, so now I have to travel an hour to replace it.
Applied laminate from the end of a roll to 3M IJ180. The last couple of meters in this laminate are usually unusable, but I forgot. Heat won’t get rid of the marks, so I have to print the whole thing again
There are some more, but I can’t remember all of them.
I just thought if there is anyone else having a bad month, you are not alone! 🤨
