Ordered Broadband from BT 2 weeks ago, finally they said I could get it, altho only the 256k version.

Final email saying my line was suitable yesterday. New modem turned up today. Phoned BT to check that my line was all ready for me to use…

“You order has been cancelled” they said..

“Not by me it hasn’t” says I….

They then put me on hold for 5 mins or so, came back & said sorry your lined failed the tests.

“Why did you send an email saying my line had been checked, confirm it by email & send me a new modem” says I..

“Dunno” says them…”We will send you a jiffy bag to return the modem!”

    Thanks a lot BT! 👿 (:)

Anybody tried the service where you can get it thru a Sky Sattelite dish?

We’ve had nothing but problems with BT Broadband.

We originally had 2 phone lines coming into the building, but to get Broadband we had to have one of them disconnected immediately, even though we weren’t promised Broadband for another few weeks, this meant whenever we needed to go onto the net, we had to disconnect our one phone line.

Then once we were connected and working, they sent us another telephone bill for a different phone number along with 15 telephone calls made. We phoned them and said, we never asked for another number, never wanted another number and certainly hadn’t been making phone calls. They said ‘but it’s on the computer’. Took several calls to sort it out.

Then to make matters worse, they billed us for Broadband for two months prior to our connection. That was in December, we are still trying to sort it out.

If you telephone them, you get various other automated messages giving you a variety of other numbers to telephone. If you email them, they email you back telling you to email a different department, depending on the problem.

Communication company – I think not!

    Hi Brian,

I use Satellite Internet since moving to France, although it is very expensive. I didn’t really have a choice apart from this and dial up. So far haven’t experienced any problems and it allows me to work efficiently.
There are quite a few companies offering it now and who knows maybe they’ve come down in price a little? The company I used is http://www.sat2way.com. The website is in French but there’s an international request for information page in English. I know there’s some English companies just can’t think who they are off the top of my head!
    Hope you find a solution

    Debbie
