I Feel Old (Thanks to Radio 2!)
Posted by Paul Humble on January 13, 2009 at 3:06 pmListening to Radio 2 as I usually do on an afternoon the DJ who is filling in for Steve Wright has just said "Now its time for another Oldie" and played Common People by Pulp!
Thats not an Oldie, im only 32!! I refuse to accept songs from my teens and early twenties are oldies! (hot) (hot) (hot)

Still can’t get my head around hearing ‘Anarchy in the UK’ one Saturday morning on R2!
It may be more than 30 years old but just did not seem right! 😮

It’s a good point Paul, whats classed as an oldie 😕
Like Adrian says about the Pistols I wouldn’t class their records as oldies but they started out 33 YEARS ago 😮
Any way Radio 2 Rocks, love the Jeremy Vine Show and I’m still trying to get Steve Wright to play my oldies 😕
I think at the end of the day wer’e just all getting old 🙁 and think wer’e still young. well I do anyway

Me too. Back in the good old days when Radio 1 was decent. Couldn’t stomach 10 secs of it these days.
Wish Steve would bring back all the old characters, Mr Angry etc.

Steve Wright in the afternoon on R1 had to be the finest radio ever broadcast IMO…
Sid the manager had me in tears, Mr Angry, Shervace the hairdresser just quality, the only thing that has come close was when Mark & Lard were on R1…..Those were the days, ay

At least they have not been relegated to TV commercials like here.
A few of my old New Wave faves are now in the background of Swiffer ads.
(Blondie, Devo)
What once seemed so cutting edge is now just plain creepy.
Love….Jill
(was just listening to the Pistols today while doing deliveries!) -
I loved Steve Wrights original show… filliting fish!! yes. i remember.
I have been to Steve Wrights roadshow at Western Super Mere and have got the Radio 1 mug and the book "Another True story", saw it in the loft only like yesterday

I still listen to radio 1 – there’s some good music on there and some bad – (appalling actually) – But I prefer it to Radio 2 which is just a bit too smug for my liking 😕

As I get older I realise the difference between ‘house and home’………a house is where I live and a home is where they are gonna put me! 🙁
