Here’s a great example of wrapping or is it???

Is this the pinnacle of the wrapping art,or was the van sprayed to a fade b4 the decals were applied.?

What sort of cost would this type of work cost?and if it was printed, what was it printed on?

    All comments welcome

…I don’t do wrap as such – only some digital, but…I would guess (for fun) that it’s a wrap else the rear hinges would have likely been sprayed too?

I did wonder if it had been airbrushed but then spotted that the two lightning flashes are identical – just mirrored…

Personally, I would have done something with the large red phrase down the side – the first part of the red doesn’t workk well against the image?…(oh – you bitch mike – just cus you couldn’t do that! πŸ˜› πŸ˜‰ )

Nice work…do we know anymore about it?

    more soon

Yes we spotted the hinges Mike, and also the lamps look as if they’ve been manipulated.

I’Ve got to agree with Alan, nice intro on the Website!!! and a very apt ‘theme’ overall carried off to graet effect.

The picture is from a local companies web site http://www.bottltd.co.uk

They fit vans out with luvverly posh cupboards and stuff, and have recently been advertising for “Vinyl Technicians”(!).

I don’tthink this is their work, but stranger things have happened.
The reason i put this up was for the comments and if anybody could do this work and at what sort of cost?

    Regards Darryl

ide bet is a wrap.. ide say all the lightening is wrap and all the text is regular vinyl.
apart from the hinges you can also see some tell tale signs round the guttering, the wheel arch and a few other odd places too..
all in all from what i can see in the picture it looks very well fitted.
the shine on the corners at the rear show a silk sort finish to the printed vinyl work instead of the normal gloss of a painted van.

the blend could have been created by printing a black blend to nothing onto clear vinyl. once applied the silver of the van would then create the black to silver blend. the only small bit that throws me at this point is the white centre to the lightning bolt. πŸ™„

cost involved will vary greatly.. it depends on who you
    get to apply the wrap?
    who prints the vinyl?
what type of life and quality you are having it printed?
    etc
obvously the whole thing beeing done in house is cheapest. πŸ˜‰

It may have been done the same way you showed in that demo where there was a blue blend around some cut vinyl ( sorry I can’t remember the post off the top of my head).
The picture isn’t that detailed to show how sharp the edges of the lightning is. Trying to keep something like that registered during the wrap would be a nightmare, where the blend would be much easier.

Listen to me…Mr Opinion…you’d think I’d actually done one of these.

    aahhh your right leeroy!
it may well have been.. yes your right about my spray demo with the line up the centre.. well remembered! πŸ˜‰

the only reason i dont think it was done this way is because both look almost exact. i only had a one off to do..

having said that it is possible so you may still be right. πŸ˜‰
