How is correct way to create a outline around whole object/image, needs to be exact around object as it is for cutting, have tried create boundary, but for some reason i keep getting program not responding, and object is only a simple traced logo (corel x3 win 7) is there another (correct ?) way to do this.

    Thanks Paul

can you post the file in the file swapping forum? Sounds like you need to reboot Corel on start up mentioned earlier this week to reset things. create boundary is the easiest method but the other way I use is select the whole group, duplicate, weld all and then create outline

I seem to have found solution, the image was made up of many layers, so i cut the background layer pasted to new page & create boundary worked fine, then i just cut & pasted back to original page.

    Thanks for help 😎

Not sure of the correct method, but i usually remove the background from a photograph with photoshop using the eraser or magic eraser, am sure there is a better way though

I guess it depends on the file.

In Illustrator we just export the file as a jpeg with a transparent background and that leaves just the image.

Do it all the time with jpegs lifted from customer’s websites when doing rough van visuals.

    Oh dear.

I can’t help then – you need a Corel guru.

I’m sure that one will be along shortly. 😀

I don’t think you can do transparent background as jpeg would need to be removed then saved as something else like a gif.
