  • How should I get these signs made?

    Hi guys,

I have been asked to quote on 500 coreflute signs and to quote for A2 and A3 size … printed with up to three logos in colour plus phone number .. and also possibly coated with UV material as these will be put on gates or fences of land holdings. They need to last 3-5 years.

As I only have a printer, and an old one at that, this is out of my league. 20 or even 50 I could handle maybe. 🙂 I’m looking for advice as to what is the best way to have these made.

Whether I farm it out to a company with a flatbed printer who can print directly onto coreflute, then laminate (spray or film) … or whether they could be screen printed perhaps (would they still need to be laminated?)

    What thickness coreflute … 4mm or 6mm?

In speaking to the customer they suggested perhaps using a blue coloured coreflute with the logo’s and phone number in white! … so doesn’t look like they need actual coloured logos … more that farmers driving past will recognise by association from the colours more than being able to actually read them easily.

    Any helpful advice gratefully received.

    Regards, Roger

Corroflute / correx etc degrades quite badly with extended UV exposure (3-4 years here) – to the point of crumbling at the lightest touch so I’d bear that in mind.

It might be worth looking at getting them reverse printed onto clear acrylic Roger

Obviously more expensive than fluted PVC but you wouldn’t need to laminate

    Roger,
Core flute will not last up to 5 years. Better off having them screen printed on colourbond. You don’t need to laminate.

Thanks for the help guys, really appreciate it.

I had no idea that coreflute deteriorated that quickly …certainly rules that out.

Screen print onto colourbond sounds like the best idea then, unless I can find someone who will print onto acrylic. Not having to laminate may be a big enough advantage.

Looks like I need to make some calls.

Do any of the Australians on the list have any suggestions as to who is best to contact?

    Regards, Roger
