  • How much to store a fridge freezer

Posted by Phill Fenton on June 28, 2010 at 2:17 pm

I’m just wondering how much I should be charging per week to store a fridge freezer?

The reason why I ask is because Alisons brother has just come off the phone wanting a price to print some signs for an exhibition he is planning to attend. He was at great pains to tell her that he could probably get it cheaper off the internet – but prefers the "personal service" he would get from us.

Meanwhile we have been storing a fridge freezer of his in our unit (because he had no where to store it until it was sold). We’ve had it about free months now and haven’t charged him a penny – but I reckon it’s about time we started charging him a rental fee.

How much should we charge? I don’t want to rip him off (because I’m sure he’ll check the prices on line) but at the same time I don’t want to sell myself short 😕

charge him a pound but tell him the rate doubles each week – bet its gone before he reaches a fiver if he likes to watch the pennies 😀

I would phone a storage facility and ask their rates.

Sounds more like a decision for Allison, I sense she might not be supporting you on this one.

Is it running? That would add to the cost also.

    hi phil
just bought a new fridge for the unit nothing fancy with a small chiller unit for ice pops and a couple of magnums .
the old fridge is still working well. two big pull out trays at the bottom for veg loads of shelf space but no chiller unit .
however it has in the door several spaces for individual eggs and two up and over garage doors for your preferred selection of cheeses.
looks like it would fit under the bench any chance you could pick it up and look after it till i can sort some thing out you may use it till then .
    derek
    😉

    Phil,

tell you what I can do, Ill come and get it and ill store it for you (minimum 3 year contract) and i be quite happy to send an invoice for lets say half of what you charge this guy, that way you are getting money for absolutely nothing?

I dont suppose it could be swapped for white though could it?

I do think you may have broken it though isnt it upside down?

    It’s a freezer right?
I think you should store a few cartons of ice cream in it.
    Or maybe some fresh halibut.
    Just don’t plug it in.
    Love….Jill

Got it! tell him he needs a right way up sticker on it to stop any further mistakes! only £50 (per sticker) you will need one on all sides 50% doscunt for family, cant say fairer than that!

(The above was meant to say discount, honest, but too funny to correct! thought that was what you think you have!)

if she was standing up it would be okay…and if she fancied doing any cleaning the stuff would be right next to her…not a bad life for someone who enjoyed cleaning id say…

Phil, a friend who had his own business once told me that he had 2 price lists. His normal one for customers and another one 25% higher for friends and family.
If you give him a price and he accepts it, all fair and good but if he declines and ebays it just take the freezer and dump it back on his doorstep, the ungrateful little schidt. (:) (chat.)  :wedgey: :hung: :nag4:
