  • How much ink gets wasted when using a powerful clean?

    Hi All,

How much ink gets wasted when using a powerful clean on a Grenadier printer. I went to use it and it said to empty the waste bottle. Surely it cant waste that much ink as the waste bottle is rather large. The bottle will probably fill up with all 12 carts of ink. I want to do power clean on the Light Cyan and Light Magenta as I have a bit of deflection with those two heads.

    hi
you can tell it to clean group C heads only saving some ink.
notice that next to the test print are letters that is the group of heads, in the cleaning menu are the options to clean just one group of heads.
but first check the rt hand pump for any sign of failure.

    Hi Chris,

How much ink does a powerful clean pump through. I know I can choose which pump to use. I checked the pump and all works fine.

not sure about 1/3 or 1/4 per head of a egg cup judging buy the amount the level goes up in the waist bottle, but the old style pumps really do take a hammering when you do this.

Bear in mind that you CAN stop the ‘powerful clean’ cycle if you think you’ve already dumped £££’s of ink and enough is enough!

Press & hold the power button…it’ll probably do a bit of a pause then resume…do it again & it’ll go for a shut down.

The first time I did a powerful clean on our cadet – it blew the best part of 1/4 cart per colour…didn’t do THAT again in a hurry.
