  • How much for a courier?

Posted by Karl Williams on December 18, 2008 at 9:17 pm

Does anyone have a clue as to what it would cost to get a 50kg consignment from Stockport to Nottingham? Any recommendations on couriers? 😉 Ta.

Karl not sure of prices but parcel to go(parcels to go ) you can work out how much it will cost, they are reliable and reasonably priced.

£95 + VAT. Would that be considered steep?

Hi Karl, That sounds very expensive, the company I use is about £27.00 + vat for 64kg anywhere in uk – but I might be getting special rates due to an account and the amount of times I use them.

    Goldstar Couriers 0191 441 9441

Tell them John from Blade sent you and you might get a good deal – then again they might tell you to fknlg.nlhbbk off. :lol1:

Karl, are you asking because you have been charged this, or you are looking for a courier to do it for you?

£50 and I’ll be on me delivery bike….

Seriously though What are the dimensions of the package? it does make a big difference to the price, as well as the weight, health and safety say 50KG is not a one man lift so it will need a tail lift and a pallette/barrow truck to deliver. so quite often that is where the premium cost is incurred

Karl, never thought of the size – for the company i use they have a max parcel weight of around 20kg (as Peter said – H&S) so you would have to split it in to 3 parcels if possible.

    Sorry didn’t mention that before.

Fastway charge a max of £7.95 for 25kgs. I think you still have to buy £300 of vouchers though.

Hi Paul, Now that seems really cheap – I might have to give fastway a bell in the new year

Fastway are in oz and NZ too, and really cheap. Read the fine print though. They take no responsibility for a lost parcel… and they have lost a few of mine over the years 🙁

I always use interparcel.com, really good and never let me down. As someone else said might be a good to add a "courier" section onto the toolbar?

I used uk pallets to pick up my cadet with a load of other bits. Was around the 200kg and that only cost 100 inclusive! Real good service, from scotland to essex next day. That was 2 pallet spaces. Single pallet was half of that.

A lot of companies now charge volumetrically now as well. Bigger the box the more it is. Think city link are like that.
