How many fonts as standard in corel draw x3 ?
Posted by Frank_Galloway on August 29, 2007 at 8:24 pmhello again,
I am currently using the Trial Period download from corel.com .. and having fun playing with it at the mo… my question is how many fonts should be available as standard?
I’ve checked the Font Navigator application and it says i have 53 Installed Fonts
does this sound about right for a "fresh" machine ? – if so how do i go about locating the correct type of fonts for download / purchase ?
many thanks!

think i got 1000 fonts with it, nothing special though
Ian
well worth getting x3 though -
my 15 day trial is supposed to be fully functional (just lasts 15 days).. but i only have the usual fonts on drop down – nothing like 1000 😮
do you have to load them from somewhere ?

the full version comes with a separate font, and clip art disc, they dont give them away with the demo though, otherwise you would still have them after the trial period was over…

aha ! – thankyou Peter… so the "fully functional" 15 day trial period is not "quite" fully functional !
My box set is due this week anyway, so I’ll look out for the extra discs inside..
thanks for explaining
Frank.

I think the programme IS fully functional, the download is for you to try before you buy, the box set contains the extras ie fonts, clipart and manual. I not sure if you are buying the academic version though.

Ok – just wondering if someone could answer before my purchased retail box arrives…
what’s the difference between these Model numbers ?:
CDGGSX3IEPCUG
and
CDGGSX3IEPCI’ve now seen on the web that the top one is "UPGRADE" – i guess by the last 2 letters..
have i bought the wrong box ? – i did ask them on the phone when ordering that it was the full Licence kit and kaboodle and not an upgrade cd or Educational Licence jobby…
just wondering what I’ve bought now ?? – anyone shed any light ?

If you already own any version of Draw (or other Corel products) an upgrade is fine, it should detect old installation and run. For very old versions you may need to speak to Corel customer services. If you don’t have any Corel products but you have an upgrade package I’m not sure if it will run but do speak to Corel customer services, Educational packakes – I’m sure they include everything bar the manuals but you are not licenced if they are to be used ‘for profit’ and you should be a student or teacher, that said I’m not aware of anybody ever checking.

Don’t own Corel yet – so i guess the muppets have sent me the wrong item 🙄
and i even asked them specifically too (chat.)

Well the upgrade I got to X3 just installs no previous cd/key required.

hmmmm.. and came with manual and all discs incl clip art and fonts ? – I could be ok then ?!!
then again I don;t want to break open teh packet if its not the right one 😕
-
quote Nick Minall:yes it came as a full set cd’s and books.
don;t suppose you have it to hand ? – you got one of the above Model numbers listed on it ?
don;t ask for much do i :lol1:
no probs if not – just thought I’d double check if you had it to had – so to speak 😉

Update – yes they did send me the wrong version – but Corel were very accommodating and did a patch over the phone so it’s fully working – saved me having to send it all back to the supplier 😀
I’ve since uploaded all the fonts that come on the other discs so all’s well that ends well.
cheers for replying guys 😀

Glad you’re sorted, although much maligned there is a fair amount of support for Corel either by phone or the Corel News Group.
