  • how long do you think it would take to wrap a new berlingo?

    Hi All

I’m after some thoughts and guidance on wrap timings:-

We’ve fully wrapped a reasonable number of vans now, partial wrapped / rear wrapped a fair few more. So far they have been a wide cross section of vans on the market but in small numbers each design/model ie. no fleet type volume for one specific model with the same design repeating each time.

We are now quoting for a large volume of the new shaped Berlingo, all factory fresh and requiring a full wrap including the roof, excluding the bumpers.

Based on our experience so far I’m calculating it will take an equivalent of 12 hours for one person to clean, remove side scuff strips / rear plate / badges (not handles or anything else), wrap / trim, and re-fit scuff strips etc. This excludes any print time. I say equivalent of 12 hours for one person just to get a benchmark but in reality it will be 2 fitters averaging 6 hours each.

There will be a van to do each day for many many months so hopefully we will be fitting these with our eyes closed as the project rolls on.

So, what do you think about the 12 hours total resource? Too low / high, or about right ??

    Look forward to comments

    Cheers

    Hi David

We have wrapped lots of vehicles, from our experience I would expect to reach two vans per day based on two fitters for an 8 hour day. How are you producing the print? We would print the side in one piece and due to the vinyl only being approx 1500 we would tile through the side strip. Hope this helps!

    Hi,

Thanks for that, good idea about tiling through the side strip (side scuff strips?). As we are hopefully doing so many that it will be worth spending plenty of time us making a fitted ‘kit’ that includes whitespace for all cut out’s, with a minimum of overhangs / overlaps etc. etc and panel alignment guides built in.

    Cheers
