Go over the area covered, with a heatgun or hair drier. This will speed up the evaperation process.

I suggest at least this time of year instead of soapy water you use an application fliud (APA do the best value one I’ve found and it’s good). You can remove the application tape almost immediately and I would let the punter have the vehicle back after a coule of hours sooner if he insisted and just tell them not to wash it for a few days.

…do it ‘in-doors’ if you can and bring the ambient temperature up!

best to use a warm environment rather than a heat gun if you can help it…too direct a heat source may cause blistering when the moisture or air trapped under the vinyl is suddenly heated and it steams/expands! – so as Becky said use a heat source but only to help things along gently.

Run the car outside for a while with the heaters full on before bringing it inside – this’ll warm it from the inside and helps the process.

Keep the vinyl warm prior to use…either keep it inside the (now warm) car or in a box next to a radiator or other heat source.

If applying wet – use an application fluid as Allan suggested – they evaporate quicker…the actual timing will depend on all the other variables so experiment with the first few pieces or some spares…

    Don’t forget – it’ll be ready when it’s ready!

When I’ve fitted in the winter (wet or dry) the phrase I use is: “… leave it alone til it’s had the sun on its back for a few hours…” ๐Ÿ˜‰

seriously.. i have been doing some small tests in the last week. nothing big but “fair tests” using rapid tac 2. i have to say for a wet application, this did bite pretty well, even in the cold workshop on painted alluminium.
ive been advised by roger that owns rapid tac to give it a go, so i have.
in fairness, it does do a pretty good job if you have to apply wet. ๐Ÿ™„
did/has it converted me?… ๐Ÿ™„ ๐Ÿ™„ cough cough splutter… no chance…cough “i really should try and shift this cold..” maybe a quick swig of rapid remover will do the trick! ๐Ÿ˜† ๐Ÿ˜† ๐Ÿ˜†

    Hi,

Doro tape do a good one bit expensive compared to APA. Don’t know wher you are situated but APA is an Italian company I believe so must operate on the continent.
