How does everyone do there own canvas stretching…. I’ve had a look online and there seems to be many ways of doing this…… I was subbing it out to a local place to me but they have just closed down without notice and I’m thinking of just doing it myself now that I have a proper workbench and a little more space

    So suggestions people 😎

    Hi John

I do mine by hand, I bought the stretching pliers but could do just a good a job with my hands, the only down side is after you have done a few your finger tips are sore 😥 The wedges add any extra tightness to the canvas so will still stretch well.

I get my stretcher bars from here

    cheers

That’s how I stretch mine and use corner wedges to make it drum tight.

Nice bit of kit I’d say but I’ve decided to just sub out my streching at the moment until I’ve got the canvas printing down to a perfection rather

How long would you leave the print before trying to strech it??

    Printing with eco sol inks

    Cheers again people 😎

    John,

You can stretch by hand. I will create a video of me stretching a canvas.

I tend to leave prints over night.

We had to do a canvas on the weekend 1.6m by 1.2m and it was a rush job.

Photo taken by 3pm had to be delivered by 6pm as a surprise.

We printed it liquid laminated it force dried it and framed it. Got there by 6.30pm and they were ecstatic with the result.

    Nice work Jason

I’ve thought of liquid laminating it but not sure, I’ll be using APS’s canvas and they said that nothing will be needed to protect the print so I’ll wait and see

I only gave that as an example. Eco solvents will scratch right off the printer. We had to liquid laminate it because we didn’t let it out gas properly before hand.

I didn’t want it ruined during delivery only gave it a light coat.
