  • How do you make a V shapped correx estate agent sign

Posted by Kevin Beck on May 24, 2017 at 9:50 am

Made loads of flat type of signs, timber baton screwed to the wall then the sign screwed to that, but this chap want a V shapped correx sign.

Is it just a matter of scoring so it can be bent?
Do I have to re inforce the bends?

I have a V grove saw for sign trays, is this better.

I can cobble something together, but want to do it correct and safe.

    Any ideas or plans available

    thanks

    quick reply for now kev.

take a scrap of correx for "a test", cut it with a sharp blade 1/4 – 1/2 way through "agianst the flutes". hold over edge of bench and press/force open the join and you are left with a nice hinge. you then do this on the actual sheet but as a test it shows how it works.

you can then take scraps of correx and slit half way through "running along the flute" and fold to create a reinforcement. just put double sided tape on it and wedge it in the inside of the sign fold. its not needed but this is how to reinforce it easily.

hard to describe by text but we have new demos going on the boards showing how this is done.
    hope this makes sense mate.
