how do you fabricate the corners of dibond tray signs?
Posted by Gary Davis on February 17, 2005 at 2:57 pmHi
Can anyone advise how you fabricate the corners of dibond tray signs?
When grooved and the cut -out in the corner done, folding the edges up causes the corner to look "unfinished"
How do you get round this, do you mitre the edges and if so how?thanks

all the ones i have done corners finish real fine they butt together and just add some 2 part adhesive on reverse side of corner
i cut through sheet at corners with an air saw with a real fine tooth blade once cut and if you do it stright they meet real nice and you cant see joint if you wanna be real fussy you can run a line of paint into jointi think i have some pics some where i will have a look and post them

thanks rich, re your other post – would appreciate the close up photos if you do get a chance!
If i saw someone do it would prob make sense straight away but the small amount ive tryed to do havent been up to standard, although maybe im just being fussy!
How did you get the orange finish on that sign?
Edit: forgot to ask do you run a bead of adhesive along the routered seam on the inside? also i mentioned to Dewi about the use of V grooved router bits from other replies also, i gathered a flat ended bit does the job, which do you use?

We are able to supply a CD showing all aspects of Dibond fabrication including corners and fixing.
It is also possible to get a practical demo from us should this be required
