One that has been bugging me for ages and can’t find answer anywhere.

If I have say a unfilled rectangle box 20 x 30cm and wish to change the size to say 20 x 40cm without redrawing it how do I do this.

    Thank you

    Russ

    Use the transform tool.

Open the transform palette from the Window drop down menu, or press shift F8. You can then change the size of any selected object. That’s how it works on a Mac anyway. 😳

Best advice I can give any Illustrator user is to buy a copy of CADtools from Hotdoor. Worth it’s weight in gold.

In recent versions of Illustrator you can also just enter the measurements in the dimensions box in the options bar at the top of your monitor (can’t remember its official name). Just make sure they’re unlinked. If they’re linked (which you can toggle by clicking on the little chain icon between the boxes), when you change one measurement, the other changes as well to keep it in proportion.

Bloody hell, i never knew that……here’s me dragging the object bit by bit (holding shift) to get to size required!
    Thanks alot….
