how do i put a photo tint/fade in Corel Draw?
Posted by Chris Dowd on October 16, 2006 at 10:13 pmHi guys,
Have a pic here that I want to turn into tint or lighter shade to use as a background. The question is how do I do it in Corel Draw X3?
Thanks
Chris.

"Image Adjustment Lab" under the bitmaps menu.
Another method I prefer is to draw a rectangle over the bitmap and then apply a transparency to the rectangle and muck about til it looks right. This way you can adjust it for ages without having to undo if it isn’t right.

Chris one way is to convert it to a mono or duotone (Image/convert to) and choose light colours

Thanks Andy, I played around with the "image adjustment lab" and didn’t really get the desired result, thought perhaps there may be something where I could just set say 50% for example, and it would "knock back" the whole image?

Chris I have answered this in another forum where you can post pictures I’m just doing it now so be patient.

Either from Draw or directly from PP.
From Draw – edit bitmap, this will launch PP – open objects docker (under windows tab) – second icon from left at bottom of docker ‘creates an object from background’ – alter transparency with slider at the top of docker – close PP and accept changes – bitmap is now back in DRAW with transparency. Using this method the transparency is still editable.
